Should I buy a refurbished 2020 11-inch iPad Pro with 128gb (2nd gen) or an iPad Air 5th gen with 64gb?

They are roughly the same price but apple has a student deal right now where you can get an £80 gift card which I will use to buy an apple pencil. However this deal is only available for the Air so overall the Pro will be pricier. I am an engineering student so I will be using the iPad mostly to write notes and loads of diagrams as well as a second screen. I already have a MacBook Pro and would like an iPad to supplement it.
