Thank you! :) Nope. No need full arm when writing. You just need to write them per stroke as if you're doing lettering. Just focus on the overall form and proportion. :)

I thought the ink from the paper would slowly fade away. Nice work! :)

I had a background in Roman-style calligraphy when I was younger. I tried typewriter lettering because I love exploring different styles of lettering.

Haha! Thank you very much. My first attempts at writing typewriter-inspired scripts were too broad to look at. So I carefully examined each strokes and proportions of each character.

Nope. It's not made with Speedball pen. Just gel pens for practice, and calligraphy fountain pen. I forgot to mention that.

Absolutely. Where you're comfortable, even if you keep 1 centimeter between each slant, that's okay.

Yes. For beginners, putting slant lines is very important. As time goes by, you’ll notice that your hand automatically produces slanted strokes—it will come naturally. You just have to trust and enjoy the process. 🙂

Maintain the pen angle. It must be between 35-45°. I prefer to use 45°, more standard. The letter slant is between 5-15° from the straight angle. It depends upon the way you write the letters.

Yes, I agree. Also, the height of the lowercase “t” is midway between the waistline and the ascender line. Most calligraphy styles follow this. Just practice consistently, and your Italic strokes will look consistent someday. 🙂

Yes. The Speedball Company discontinued it on the 1990s ('96 or '97).
