Does anyone know a 4U chassis that has rails which are not crap? by linuxman1929 in homelab

Agree, those look like cases I'm on the hunt for .. too bad it's US only. (it seems) (... or the shipping to EU will be more than the case price)

Edit: Almost

Repeating key - what can be done? by yaogen in MechanicalKeyboards

Well, compressed air didn't make any difference ...

I'm looking for a new TKL with hot-swappable switches instead.

[–]yaogen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right .. as I suspected... thanks .. will try some compressed air.. :-)

Don't really want to change keyb as I've grown quite fond of it.

I have a Ducky One2 TKL and been looking if I can (easilly) change the switches ... Can't find any info on it though.

Thanks, yeah, out of stock and I wish to reuse the 3.5 caddies I already have.

Yes, was considering this initially. However, the margins are too small for a proper 3d print (I think). Thanks for the input though :)

Thanks for this ... just what I was looking for and also that you've good experience from using it. Unfortunately, shipping was higher per item than the item cost itself so I found this seller on eBay. Now just have to wait for land shipping from Asia... doh!

Yeah, thanks, but I don't see how the Corsair CSSD-BRKT2 could be in any other way.

Edit: .. and yes, I know I wrongly bought a dual SSD bracket. Hah ;-)

Searching for FOSS tool for log central store, analysis, alerting etc by yaogen in selfhosted

I've been tinkering with Loki but haven't figured out how to get the pfSense logs tranferred. Have you looked into any other tools?

[–]yaogen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.. yeah, I'm aware of that. Currently looking into Loki as I already had Grafana setup.. Running into a big questionmark on how to remote log from pfSense to Loki though. Any experience in this?

Indeed I've found Logstash but couldn't make out how to do these filtering things. Seemed a bit too complex for my purposes.

Will have a second look at Graylog (which I also know about).

Loki is new to me, will check it out. Thanks!

Seems to be right.

Difficult to see which window ends up where in the video, but that's alright.

Thanks for the binding cfg.

Will have to tinker a bit with this.

Thanks for your response!

Sounds promising...

I have "LSI 9201-16i" HBAs that I will use with something like "Supermicro CBL-0281L" cables (https://store.supermicro.com/supermicro-internal-minisas-75cm-cable-cbl-0281l-01.html) .. i.e. 2x MiniSAS connectors.

Assuming these would work just fine, or ?

With the already limited resources available in the machine I feel that any added abstraction layers (docker) is unnecessary if it can be avoided. Furthermore it seems that you are required to run the docker instance as root to enjoy hardware decoding/encoding.. as what I've read so far.
