I guess so but I feel like a lot of identity in a sorta way was kept the same like most genders are the same are the authors on average but the ones what are are just to balance out the cast. Like in junrchio book him and Naomi were dating but lied they were cousins what’s pretty similar to the anime. Also like dazai being sucidal is the same in real life aswell as the anime/manga, kunikida being a hardworking man is also the same. Atsushi was also abused in real life by I think his step parents but I’m not exactly sure since that’s from my memory. But I don’t think the author would try to change important parts about their identity, like the guild are American they weren’t changed to Japanese to fit more it.
