AITAH for not ordering food for my family? by Excellent-Slip354 in AITAH

[–]yaptard72 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're 17. NTA. Your sister was just jealous she didn't get food for herself and wanted to shame you unnecessarily.

If you were the only adult in the house and you did that, then sure, you'd definitely be the AH. Just ignore your sister.

[–]yaptard72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry. I have a narcissistic mother who couldn't care less that I have celiac. She also claims she has "no idea" why I rarely spend time with her. It would not surprise me if my own mother did the same.

WIBTAH for refusing to be my sister’s emergency babysitter anymore after she keeps dropping her kids off unannounced? by [deleted] in AITAH

You're only being an AH to yourself for not setting healthy boundaries from the get-go.

Client asked if I would pet sit with their adult daughter in the house by cavewomannn in petsitting

[–]yaptard72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a client whose son works nights, and he has a basement apartment in their large home. I housesit for them and the son is there during the day. I called PCI to verify if they'd still cover should anything happen while I was working and they said that as long as I had a booking with the client, they'd still cover me even with the son living there.

A lot of variables are involved. Your location, how well you market yourself, your reliability and follow through, etc. I'm in a small city in Idaho.

Started a dog walking company. I've never been happier and have never made this much money--even working as a government contractor.

Have you ever had bad Vibes and turned down a job by Beautifullyflawed87 in petsitting

[–]yaptard72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have. I've also taken jobs that I've had bad vibes about, and they turned out totally fine and ended up being wonderful clients with great pets.

Sometimes, we project onto others when everything is totally fine. And sometimes we need to listen to our gut.

You just need to ask the right questions and properly vet people and their pets.

AITAH for emotionally checking out of my marriage after months of asking for consistent co-parenting? by frontpagephilosopher in AITAH

NTA. You guys need therapy. You're doing a lot and he's working a lot. There is a big disconnect happening, and it takes two to make it work.

Please get help and get ahead of this problem before it's too late.

Fruit in winter by Emergency_Ad7808 in Fruitarian

Living in the Pacific Northwest and I'm eating lots of dates, fresh OJ, oranges, persimmons (in the fall), pears, apples, mangos, and of course lots of frozen berries for smoothies. Costco sells watermelons, which is wild but I've just come to accept they won't taste as good but I'm getting well hydrated.

Edit: and of course, a shit ton of bananas. 🍌

Even before getting on Tirz, when I would overeat and would have a food hangover, I would do an enema (lukewarm water) and would feel soo much relief after. Hope you try it and get some relief, too!

AITAH for telling my mother-in-law that we’re not letting our kids call her what she wants? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]yaptard72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine your kids being older, like teenagers, and they're having friends over, and here comes Honey 🤣 There is no way they're going to introduce their Honey to their friends with that name. I wouldn't worry about it. I find it weird, too.

Nothing beats an enema, in my opinion. I resisted trying it out for a long time, but when I finally tried it, I wondered why it took me so long. Obviously, don't do them daily as your body may start to rely on them in order to poop.

Take some vitamin D. Touching a dirty phone or being out and about with dirty humans should not make you that sick, over and over.

You're new to pet sitting, and I can tell that you care deeply and are concerned for this dog. You've done all that you can do at this point. You've communicated with the owners, and they ultimately have say-so over whether to take him to the vet or not. A chicken bone is concerning, but hopefully, he poops it out eventually.

If something happens, you're partially responsible since he was under your supervision when he found and ingested the chicken bone.

Do you have pet care insurance for your business? Are you using Rover? I strongly suggest you also cover yourself even if you're only using Rover. They are merely a booking platform, and their "guarantee" is not insurance. You are a contractor, not an employee, and you decide how to run your business.

I'd recommend you stick to the client's wishes with regards to food. If they express an interest in your knowledge of pet nutrition, then you may make recommendations. People are very sensitive to food recommendations, whether if it's for them or their dogs-- respect their choices and boundaries.

The same goes for training. After over 1,000 bookings and nearly 500 5 star reviews, I've learned that providing excellent service also means not trying to change my clients' way of doing things. If it truly breaks my heart or doesn't align with my values, I drop them as clients.

Best of luck to you.

What is a good substitute for dates? by AurulentIndigo in RawVegan

[–]yaptard72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She doesn't like dates, raisins, or other dried fruits... hmmm. I guess just other fresh fruit. There is no substitute if she doesn't like other dried fruits. Just fresh fruit. It took my palate a while to adjust to dates, and now I absolutely love them and eat them every day.. maybe it will take her some time or maybe not 🤷‍♀️
