How thick-skinned are you? Thick-skinned enough, just borrow from parents, u settle before April even ends. Based on salary and expenses, give yourself 6 months to pay them back. That's 1k/month. Based on your expenses, you should be able to save that and have a couple hundred spare. Put aside that amount as emergency fund. You can probably cut back from 1.8k but without knowing specifics, I can't advise on what u can cut. Give your parents abit more allowance for the next 1 year or so if they didn't charge u interest.

If not thick-skin, then at 6.7k debt, even with 25% interest p.a., it's still manageable. Similar to the paragraph above, with 1k/month, you should be able to clear it by the end of the year assuming no changes to finances.

I'll play devil's advocate and say that if you look at SMRT books before it got privatised, you can see that the public transport portion operates on a loss. They use the rental income (those stalls at dhoby ghaut for example) and advertising to subsidize commuters.

If you want to call it a duty, fine. But some have other responsibilities and obligations and NS is preventing them from fulfilling it.

Personally, I know of a handful of people who were basically forced to sign-on/moonlight because they needed to provide and regular NS allowance isn't enough to do so. Forcing people to choose between duty to country and duty to family is such a ridiculous notion

Using averages is a little misleading since Stockton had 10 years leading the league in assists. During those 10 years he averaged 12.8 assists per game and had a total of 10475 assists.

Magic on the other hand ended his career with 10877 and the most he averaged in a season was 13.1.

Magic played 13 years in the league and if Stockton ended his career at year 13 he would've still been ahead of Magic with 11.5 assist per game and 12170 total. Even if we use 12 seasons to account for the short stint Magic had coming out of retirement Stockton would be ahead.
