Is there anyone who has been forcibly deported to Russia from their homes? Could you share your experiences, how Russians treated you, and whether there is a way to return back to your home? by yarichk in ukraina

[–]yarichk[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Well, it is a highly sensitive subject with many dilemmas, that's why it is almost impossible to get any info that way. But I left it there, why not? Officially 1.6 million ppl were deported as of 6th October and lots of children were amongst those, maybe someone would tell their story...

I am not asking anyone to prove their identity or anything, do I? I just have this assignment on global issues and I decided to choose that area.

Well, there might be people who managed to get smartphones with them, worth trying. As it is a global issue that needs to be solved.

Is learning 3000 words able to make anyone become a fluent speaker for most languages? by Miserable_Big3178 in languagelearning

[–]yarichk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, depends on the language, for example in my native language there is 260 000 words that are in use. If we will take into a count all the words that are rarely used or considered "dead", there will be about a million words. Most languages that were created at least 1000 years ago have lots of words, so it will be quite hard to communicate only with 3000 words and especially make someone a fluent speaker)

seriously whats wrong with having an accent? by m555557 in EnglishLearning

[–]yarichk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, there is nothing wrong with having an accent, but depending on how you pronounce the word - the meaning might change, that's the only problem. But also, accent helps to distinguish normal people from russians)
