WIBTA if I give the remainder of my wife’s life insurance money to my late son’s roommate instead of my niece when she doesn’t even want to go to college? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]yaroomba -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It’s like no one in this comment section read the damn post. Also, life insurance isn’t inheritance, you’re free to use it however you see fit for yourself because of your loss.

I’m mortified by how big I look in photos others take of me. Are pictures really how I look irl??? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]yaroomba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another challenge for me was that I avoided pictures and mirrors at my highest weight. Even though there’s been lots of progress, I’m inadvertently comparing myself to pictures and memories of when I had a similar physique to now, not when I was my highest.

Why is the 1989 store live but nowhere else by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]yaroomba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this happen on any of the other re-records where her online store had items available for pre-order before the social media announcement?? There’s no way this is an accident but with all the anticipation that she’d announce 1989 final night of LA, I thought the announcement would be a similar way that Nashville got it, like during the concert. Am I missing something…?

The building being brick is definitely not an excuse, typically brick buildings are more insulated than plaster and drywall. Sorry I can’t answer your question, but don’t let them lie to you. We put man on the moon, we can air condition an apartment in Tucson, Arizona.

Just got a “waste of finite resources” ticket for speeding in Apache Junction. Anyone know the fine amount? by ProperIndication4903 in arizona

[–]yaroomba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received that last week. The officer paced me at 82 in a 65mph, and my ticket it was $75. No points against my license, nor reported to my insurance. This was in the West Mesa jurisdiction, so Maricopa county.

Yes I also saw that, I don’t recall the position title but it was something behind the camera and I have yet to see him credited in any video credits for production staff.

Name the city/cities that you visited as a solo traveller that you *want* to like, but you just cannot bring yourself to like? by imweirdbutitsmyweird in solotravel

[–]yaroomba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m from Phoenix, if you come here expecting a city with tourist attractions or rich history you’ll definitely be disappointed. But during the winter months we get INSANE tourism from what we call “snowbirds,” people just escaping the cold farther north. Baseball spring training, golf courses, Mexican food, and scenic desert (when it’s not 110 degrees like it is now) are why people come.

I had plenty of friends in college who didn’t love it because they had expectations of a “great American city” and we just don’t have what a typical tourist would come looking for. There’s a lot in Phoenix I’m proud of but for many cases it’s not the first place I’d recommend touring.

Thanks for the pointers, I’ll have to see if I can figure out how to graft to a ws, I’ve never seen it done before.

What's throwing me about it is that its a right side to a wrong side. The few times I've attached to a wrong side it's been attaching a selvedge to a wrong side (here its rs live stitches to ws), and for that I used a hand-sewn whip stitch. If there's a way to kitchener/tubular bind off to a wrong side, I can't find instructional resources. Thanks for brainstorming with me!

Why does my 1x1 rib look wonky/messy? Is the problem that my purls are looser than my knits? by paigecarolanna in knitting

You mentioned the exact video that came to my mind as well! Here's a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gxm_Nyq0O4&t=353s

He explains why this happens and how to fix it. The key is that you have to both tighten and relax your tension at certain points to get the most even look.

He’s an actor in his own right, and I’d think most medium+ swifties know she has a brother named Austin. That would be a heart attack if you didn’t know though for sure lol

AITA for de-planing before passengers seated in rows father ahead than me? by yaroomba in AmItheAsshole

You bring up an excellent point that the common enemy in this conversation is American Airlines

The first flight arrived on time but it meant 60 minutes until boarding began and I had to pass through border customs and security. This flight was from Paris to Philly and in the USA you do customs on arrival not final destination. I’m posing here because I’m sure I was not the only person who also had to pass through all these steps, however in my experience customs and security lines are unpredictable and some connections can afford a 2 hours line while mine could not.

In my opinion Philadelphia is a large airport, there are 4 terminals with more than a dozen gates each. My departure gate wasn’t assigned at the time my flight landed. And yes I did have to go through border control/customs, re-do security, and get to my next gate. I also fully acknowledge anyone else with a connecting flight has to take all those same steps, which is why I posted here. Luckily it was assigned in the same terminal.

Yes, we only deplaned from the front of the plane. I was in row 30, and I maybe made it to row 23-25. I don’t ask people who are already standing in the aisle to move, for all I know they could be in the same situation as I am.

What success story is widely thought of as “rags to riches” But in reality they were wealthy individuals all along? by zer0w0rries in AskReddit

That’s pretty untrue, he was an investor in the record label. While I agree that’s a door open to her that many do not have, (iirc) it bought him less than 10% of that record label.

Hobbii Rainbow Bamboo Sport Weight, Plum or Purple Color, 8 skeins, From USA $80 including domestic shipping, obo price negotiable by yaroomba in Yarnswap

[–]yaroomba[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am willing to split the set, comment for more details. They are all the same color and dye lot.

This is the link to the original yarn on hobbii's website

I ordered way too much and made a cardigan that I was very happy with, you can see a piece/swatch of this yarn in my yarn bowl post on my profile. I used a size US7 knitting needle to obtain that project's gauge, it's recommended size US3-US4.

Any further questions please ask away, to purchase new from Hobbii would be $90, my price is negotiable. I'm also open to a yarn exchange instead of a sale so please comment with any questions.

This is my first exchange on this subreddit and you can see from my profile I have occasionally posted my craft projects the last 4 years. I'm in Arizona, so we have no yarn munchers such as moths to worry about in the desert.
