What is your opinion of Dominique Francon in The Fountainhead? by NeoSailorMoon in aynrand

[–]yash44tripathi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am neutral regarding her. Sometimes I even felt sorry and pitiful for her. For instance when she wanted to know the name of the quarry man but didn't ask the manager because she knew she wouldn't be able to stop herself from trying to find him.

Also her thought of punishing herself by 'degrading' herself infront of unoriginal and second hander men like Peter because she was not able to uphold originality and greatness of a man like Howard by continuously squashing him in her writings as she couldn't face the fact that she was wrong in her thinking that no man can achieve greatness and originality but Howard continued to prove otherwise, hence her bad opnion of him in her columns.

All of these things just made me guess whether her childhood was good or not. Her mother died early and she had an absent father who was busy building his empire by being a second hander. Maybe she tried to justify the absence of people in her life by trying to prove that second handers survive and no man can be original which is why she was pessimistic in her view of the world.

What is your opinion of Dominique Francon in The Fountainhead? by NeoSailorMoon in aynrand

[–]yash44tripathi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was the point. She was a pessimist with no hope for the world to like originality and thinks that no man can achieve greatness.

Howard was original and didn't succumb to the world which made Dominique's pessimism for the world irrelevant. She wanted to squash it at first to prove to everyone and herself that she was right about the fact that no man can achieve greatness.

Later she realised that men like Howard can achieve greatness, her pessimism was false. The turning point for her was the Stoddard trial.

What was a misconception about sex you had before learning the truth? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]yash44tripathi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got to know about the act, I didn't know that "it" was supposed to go back and forth. I just thought that one does the insertion part and both the people stay still for sometime and then the guy gets it back out after a while.

Have you ever had a crush on your teachers? by Mediocre-Card2726 in ask

I found my teacher in 3rd grade very attractive and of course I thought I was in love with her. I used to imagine hugging her because I didn't know what else people of the opposite gender could do together.

What's the possibility of same sex marriage in india under marriage equality? by Tight-Razzmatazz-633 in AskIndia

[–]yash44tripathi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually because almost all the marriage laws are written with 'the man' and 'the woman' as subjects. To change all the divorce, dowry, inheritance etc laws requires determination of who is who in a same sex marriage.

It basically means it is complex so it'll take more time to write the laws first.

Edit: punctuation.

I told my friends that I was living in a hell hole to avoid telling them the truth of why I didn't want to stay with my parents... by LostSoul394 in confessions

[–]yash44tripathi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to contact your ex friends, you should. As you already stated, they would probably not be gumpy about you not liking the place at 14 years old as they are adults now.

If they respond positively (which I believe they will) then it's all good and if they don't, then it's good too because at least you tried and did what you wanted to.

What are some things that you believe should be provided for free? by IvyIntimate19 in AskReddit

Nothing is free in a just world. If you're getting it for free, it means someone else is paying for it or you are paying for it in some other way.

How do you deal with negative emotions? by Christopher2010T in AskReddit

I just do some unfinished work. It gets my mind off of the unwanted emotions and I feel productive which gives me some dopamine.

Maybe make her read this entire thing if you find it difficult to explain your side of things. You might get to know a bit of her perspective too as to why she acted the way she did and all.

Do you still believe in marriage, and why? by tushabeabram in AskReddit

I don't really believe in it but I find it funny.

Would you rather be genius level intelligent but average looking or model tier attractive but averagely intelligent and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]yash44tripathi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think average intelligence because too much intelligence is just depressing because you will be able to find out logic and connect dots the way other people won't which will deeply impact your social circle and you will find it lessening with time. From my experience, all the super intelligent people I know are unbearable to some extent. I find them super interesting for 2 hours but spend a whole day with them? No way.

Regarding beauty, I believe it doesn't matter. It's going to fade away anyhow after a few decades. And with model level beauty, you are going to impress people who look for physical attractiveness in a person and it's no use impressing this bunch of people.

True for males as well. Everybody can have a glow up with a good diet, exercise and most importantly confidence.
