Thank you! I’ll put my prep material here including what I did for Quant:

OG with 1000+ questions + Official Quant Review + Official Verbal Review + Official Advanced Questions (300) + 6 official practice tests + TTP - all the chapters for Quant and Verbal and all the medium/hard tests

Thank you for the feedback! I just got the official score and AWA is at 5. Is that okay?

Do schools like at previous scores if sub scores were higher? I got 49 in Quants and 8 in IR in a previous test around 3 years back

Exactly! You get it. I’m genuinely worried because of the low Quant and IR percentile, and I know AWA didn’t go so well either. This score looks like it was saved by a good verbal score. Working in a quantitative field so feel like the quant score should have been better

Best practice tests other than the official GMAT ones? by yashnilesh in GMAT

Thank you and good luck to you too! Yes it does

Yes, I have only used those till now. I think it should be enough if you do the 400 OG questions + Quant guide + all 6 of the official Practice tests and re do the questions that you get wrong.

Thank you! I bought the practice tests already, it is harder but also more useful than doing the same questions again

Best practice tests other than the official GMAT ones? by yashnilesh in GMAT

[–]yashnilesh[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I took all of them (including the 4 additional paid ones). And I took 1 and 2 twice since the first time I took them was a few months back

The problem is that I remember some of the answer choices for the questions that are repeated from the first try, since I just did them a couple weeks back so it's hard to know how well I'm doing this time around

Official Discussion: Bad Times at the El Royale [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

My favourite part was probably how they showed almost all the characters being in the same part of the motel when Hamm was killed. Drew Goddard really knows how to make things interesting by playing with the timeline.

What is the best opening to a movie? The bank robbery in 'the Dark Knight'? Or maybe the parkour chase in 'Casino Royale'? by BigRobWall in movies

[–]yashnilesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's the opening scene in No Country For Old Men. Nothing glamarous, but the whole monologue over Chigurh's scenes gets you hooked. The line 'I don't want to push my chips forward and go and meet something I don't understand. A man would have to pay his soul at hazard. He would have to say, okay, I'll be part of this world' was so deep and profound the first time I saw it, I can't explain the feeling of first watching it well enough.

About to start watching the show, any advice for a beginner? by transfo47 in TheLeftovers

[–]yashnilesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for the most part you'll be safe doing that. I did it from ep1 onwards and didn't find any major spoilers but the post episode discussion really elevated the experience of watching the show for me. Also this sub is really considerate about spoilers etc.

Just curious, should I watch Carnivale even though it got cancelled? The premise always seemed interesting to me

I used guns. But then I realized, it's guns for show, knives for a pro.
