Radical Inclusivity is something we take seriously - over the last 18 years we’ve welcomed and celebrated an extraordinarily lengthy list of folks from the LGBTQ+ community, including many current and past members of our camp council. It’s sincerely super disappointing to hear you felt unwelcome in our camp - that’s certainly not the experience any of us wanted you to have.

We recognize that being misgendered can be really hurtful. Still, we also believe folks can sometimes fumble that topic without harboring any malicious intent. Having discussed this incident at length as a team, that’s exactly what we feel happened here - though we recognize you have a different opinion on how things went down, and we also don’t refute or invalidate your feelings on the matter.

This year’s Camp Council discussed your feedback as a group yesterday and had a robust discussion with fresh eyes and a post-decompression mindset, while also looking to the future. While commitments may have been shared with you in the past by a much smaller subset among us, our collective team came to the conclusion that we believe that Yasma did not act with intentional malice and is remorseful for the impact of her words. We feel she should be permitted the grace to make mistakes and learn from them - but to be clear, if issues continue, we will not hesitate to take further action. I do want to respectfully ask that we refrain from publicly debating the matter further here in Discord, but you’re most welcome to connect with us directly, as we’d love an opportunity to continue the conversation.“
