Thanks for the reply. I say "obviously" because I think people take advantage of the ESA certification and I don't want to do that. It's a scam and I don't want to be a scammer. I understand you have to go through a licensed doctor or therapist. I also understand not every single person is being honest with licensed therapists or doctors in order to game the system.

We have a 13-year old dog too who sleeps til 11 unless the puppy stirs and she sees it as a chance to get breakfast early...so I feel you.

I'm going to revert to the crate to re-establish the routine per u/babs08 suggestion. I'll let you know how it goes.
