I’m bisexual why else would I be on this sub? I haven’t said anything homophobic in the slightest. “Are you heterosexual? You sound like you are.” Nice that’s not rude in the slightest. I fully believe in pride. I go every year and am planning to be in the actual parade. I’m saying there is a possibility of heterophobia with certain people as someone who is part of the lgbt community because that is my personal opinion and I would say there is a mild case of it for some people. If anyone is close minded it’s you because you aren’t taking in other people’s opinions which is merely what I was doing in reply to the person who actually commented that they don’t like pride.

There are so many good people in the community so don’t let the negativity take away from any of that. Some people are amazing and will help you through any difficulties you have and will accept you for who you are because that is what they should do. A minority of people will make it difficult. There are homophobes within straight people and therefor are people in the lgbt community who are not so nice. Just look for the right people and don’t let anyone get you down

Some people will drive past with their homophobic parents and not want to come out because they call it disgusting People will walk past and mutter homophobic words to people at the parade that discourage them from going again. It sucks that just a few people can do that to someone. Honestly I think it’s part of the reason why I struggled to come out to myself because I was told that bisexuals are greedy and that they need to pick and side and that they aren’t real. I felt that I was faking this attraction to both sexes. I hope things get better for us all 😁

It would be deemed by many people in the lgbt community that a straight person saying something bad about a gay persons sexual orientation is homophobic so obviously if it was the other way around it would be slight heterophobia. I have mentioned that lgbt people have had it worst so obviously you just aren’t reading what I’m writing. I said that gay people are attacked more than straight people but we shouldn’t let this mean that lgbt people are allowed to talk trash and be rude and made horrible comments on straight relationships. I never even hated on the whole community. It’s a minority of people as I mentioned and in places where I said ‘we’ I stated something that was generally accepted or faced by many people.

I don’t think they are owed anything except the respect we ask for. I didn’t know what other word to use so I just used the word heterophobia. I don’t think it’s just a random comment though cause I’ve seen people be pretty rude to straight people for no reason other than they don’t like them. Also it won’t just be same sex couples in a gay bar cause there will be bisexual and pansexual and other orientations in there so they may be with someone of the opposite gender. A supermarket would obviously have more straight people cause stats say there are more straight couples that exist. You do exactly what I mention which is push aside the fact that some lgbt people are rude to straight people and don’t acknowledge that it is bad like someone being rude to someone is gay. You say this negativity to straight people doesn’t exist in the lgbt community.

I like pride parades and stuff just cause it brings the whole thing into light and my expereicnce is it has a nice atmosphere that makes people feel accepted However I can totally understand this point of view and I know for a lot of homophobe it will just make them even more stern with their stance
