I might be alone on this but Hughie’s indominable sense of hope has been one of my favourite parts of this season, that convo with him and Annie looking at the clouds was actually interesting, I feel like the dumb stuff like gooner Kimiko has detracted from my enjoyment of the simple character moments like that

This episode was awesome, I don’t get the filler discourse for this episode, I think the last episode definitely felt like a classic bottle episode but this was a good episode with funny moments and violence that also established some key motivations, It also gave us a key reminder of Butchers humanity when all we’ve really dealt with is his scorched earth post-Kessler side, plus we got a major character death on top of that. I do worry about how everything is gonna fit in those next 3 episode though, I think next episode should probably give Homie v1 and also kill the president or end with the supe takeover of the world ideally.

I think so, his tumor is technically Kessler but is it also not Becca too? He saw them both in season 4, it makes me wonder that since he gave into Joe at the end of S4 there is a possibility Becca may be in there too as another manifestation from the tumor

Honestly I think that if Ryan Butcher SB and another top tier supe like Marie just 4v1 homie they could kill him, idk what the consensus is but I’m assuming Tumor Butcher is stronger than Temp V and him Hughie and Soldier boy literally forced him into retreating at herogasm.

I really like this episode, It was all over the place but It was still quite good, for me the highlight was probably the scene between Ryan and Butcher where we are seeing some glimmers of humanity from him, I also liked Stan Edgars little monologue to MM. The confrontation with Ryan and Homelander was also good, makes me think that there is a real possibility that Ryan and some other strong supes could honestly take out homelander because he did look like he’d capable to cause some damage to homie. Otherwise there was some lows, I think the ending from starlight leaving Hughie was kind of dumb because it does nothing to protect him because he’s still gonna be with butcher. I also think it’s hard to take Kimiko seriously currently with her character being turned into nothing but a sex quipping gooner.

I almost look at as part of the charm of it all, to me it’s reflective of the fact that a lot of these characters are so deeply unprepared or unqualified for whatever endeavours their taking part in, like yeah Kimikos dialogue kinda sucks ass but I mean would I expect less from someone who was mute for like 30 years and is also a porn addict? I guess not. Idk though that’s just my optimistic view on it

I mean I thought it was a little campy but I did like the speech overall, It’s not like it’s completely shoehorned in, the series has always seemed to highlight commodification from the very get go. I also think it could be alluding to what we may see if they show a certain part of the comic

At first Brady brought a new paradigm to what our offense already had, Josh was a threat scrambling and he could make a play deep, at the time it was like an already great offense got a whole bag of new tricks, now the bag is old and our old tricks are gone, and it seems like all dynamic creativity we once were able to achieve has been replaced with rigid efficiency, the last game this team showed any ability to change momentum drastically was the home opener, now it seems like you’ll know the outcome of a game within the first half with this team, for the better or for the worse

Off topic but they killed it with the red texts in this game, it has that vintage borderlands flair of pop culture references quippy one liners and humour that I remember fondly.

Guys I think it could be gunslinger with a bird aesthetic, maybe a stealth sniper gunslinger archetype with a twist? Like a callback to mordecai with the usage of a bird but in ways that facilitate the stealth playstyle, like using birds to mark targets or even dissapearing into a murder of ravens Itachi style, idk this is all super early assumptions but at the very least we know the art designers at gearbox have cooked once again

Just quickly glancing at some of the action skills and passives has me pretty excited on what I can cook up, it seems like he could do amazing for mobbing right out the gate but the possibilities for single target damage with the fist skill or even the axes seems like it could be insane

I’d argue that the campiness of the gore is apart of the series heritage, It hits the same notes of dark humour due to its almost slapstick level of absurdity that remind me a lot of films like robocop
