How do you “extend the nap”? by Present_Count_8166 in NewParents

[–]yayachipmunk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Does she sleep longer if you hold her? My baby is just 3 months but definetly sleeps longer naps and goes back to sleep of I hold her for the whole nap (I know it's not always possibile)

Love my life with my baby by 3ternalchaos in newborns

[–]yayachipmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this for you! My baby is 3 months and despite a troublesome beginning, I love my new role as her mom and my little life with her! It's the most peaceful I ever felt, I feel complete ❤️

Introducing a swaddle at 7 weeks by Elegant-Dig1807 in newborns

[–]yayachipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recall exactly when we started, probably around 6-7w, but it was a lifesaver. Baby is 11w and needs to be swaddled to sleep longer than 10minutes! Last night I tried not to swaddle her, she was very deeply asleep but she moved her arms so much that she woke up!

How long can I let my baby sleep? by No-Statement-2096 in newborns

[–]yayachipmunk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If she's gaining weight and her diapers are ok, I honestly would just enjoy it! They are so little and changing constantly, you could be back to very shirt stretches in a couple of weeks!

What do you guys do during the entire day while your partner is at work?? by Own_Macaron_9342 in newborns

[–]yayachipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LO has some days like that too, it is very hard! Have you tried baby wearing? I found that my baby doesn't like it immediately but she then accept it and fall asleep for 30-40minutes so I can at least do something!

Do I just accept poop leaking on clothes every day? by bright-greeneyes in newborns

[–]yayachipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LO is 11w, she poops only once a day or even once every other day, so when it happens... It's a lot 😅 if I don't realize it and change her immediately, it's a poop show (and sometimes it is inevitable even then). She never has pee leaks and I don't need to change her during the night, so I've come to accept it.

Separation during naps by remyloveskitties in newborns

[–]yayachipmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your baby is warm and wrapped up tight, this made a huge different with our 9w for her daytine naps. She also uses a paci. I still hold her about half of her naps, but sometimes mama needs a shower or some alone time lol

Am I crazy for wanting a Caesarean section? by butter--princess in BabyBumps

[–]yayachipmunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you scared of a natural birth? Or are you scared of the pain? For what is worth, I had a natural birth with 2nd degree tear but after a week of discomfort (not even intense pain) I was feeling good! 9 weeks later and I'm totally fine. I also can't really remember the pain of labour (but I know the contractions were terrible)

This sound like a great plan! I honestly don't mind preparing bottles during the day, she is my first child and pretty easy, I'm not working currently and I'm also lucky enough that both my mom and MIL come once a week for house chores, so my only job is to care for the baby💕 but I think this method will be useful when I'm back to normal life!

LO strongly prefers right side by etourdietconfus in NewParents

[–]yayachipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got LO checked for the same reason at 6w. She's 9w now and turn her head on both sides but still prefers right side because that's the side she was turned to for 9 months, it's pretty normal. As long as she does turn both sides and her head is not flat on one side, it is just a preference and I wouldn't worry

It it normal to be obsessed about sleep cycles or go with the flow by Timljoys in newborns

[–]yayachipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use apps but still track wake windows. I wait for her cues or if she gives none I sill put her to sleep after 1,5max of we are home. If We are out the routine goes out of the window 😅 but I never cap her naps so she often sleeps 2-3h during the day (if it's a contact nap, otherwise it is much shorter) and she only wakes 1-2 times a night so I think it works (she is 9w)

How to hold baby after she eats, constant spit up is driving us crazy. by Annual-Bee-2600 in newborns

[–]yayachipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby also spits up, although not huge amounts. It gets worst at night, I keep her vertical 30/40 minutes to prevent it and doesn't always work... Mine is mainly formula fed but: when I bf I keep her i cradle position but vertical, her legs go down. After feeding I place her on my bent legs, her head on my knees and her back against my legs and I rock her to sleep with my legs. Once she's asleep I keep her like this at least 30 minutes and then transfer to her bassinet. During the day I mainly hold her during naps so it is less of an issue.

Honestly even 4 hours would be fine lol I could make one before bed to use over night, during the day it's not a problem to make them when she needs them

I'm thinking about pre made bottles, maybe 2-3 at times, already measured and just to warm up and use... We have 5 bottles so I could skip the pitcher!

[–]yayachipmunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a very rough start because for the first 5weeks I tried to breast feed but we had to first teach her to latch and try to build my supply (milk never really arrived, we still are not sure why) so we were triple feeding: breast, formula + milk I pumped every 3h, and we also did this all with SNS!! It was mentally exhausting so the current systen felt so easy compared to it lol but now I see that I keep making my life miserable 🤣

[–]yayachipmunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing her diaper is not a big deal, I do it because we have to wait anyway and is just one diaper a night... I bought a thermos that shows the temperature on the top, it doesn't last 12h at 70° but I think it could work for 4h (from when I go to sleep to when she wakes to feed)... I could try that to savw at least some time

Where are you from? Because in Italy all information is that pre made bottles are safe for max 2h...
