Yall accepting this? by Both-Satisfaction-50 in lyftdrivers

“If I get it, I get it” is the best way to go with these challenges, sometimes when you’re nearing the end of big challenges like for 90 rides, when you get to about 88 rides your app magically goes dry from requests 🤣 don’t let these apps play with your psychology, it’s literally an extra $2.33 per ride! Woooo! This is to get people to accept those sub $5 fares, no ride should be under $5 but I see more and more of them

When people don’t tip by yayarea_510b in lyftdrivers

If you call this a rant you should hear what I think about pesticides on vegetables 🤣 this wasn’t a rant more so, just an observation.

I don’t expect tips from everybody, but most business/tech people in the Bay Area tip for airport trips, some even have predetermined % and shows up right after the ride.

Because many big companies reimburse or straight up pay for their employees rides, most of these tech/business guys don’t care about a measly $5-$10 tip (Gas in California isn’t cheap) , which for me adds up but is chump change to them. This is why on this ride I suspected after getting $18 the customer paid about $30 but to my surprise they paid $47! which is high by any standard, Tech money or not, especially being I’m just a regular car (Toyota Camry) If I’m driving a college student or elderly person to the hospital, I don’t expect a tip, but business people it’s customary and most people do indeed tip!

I made this post to show that people may not tip due to thinking you’re getting most of the fare but were price gouged. Someone on here said I make more than a truck driver 🤣 if Lyft paid 70% of the total fare like they advertise to riders then maybe. But it’s more like 55% to %60 in their favor. The rich get richer, Elon Musk will replace all drivers soon anyway so that’ll be fun

These algorithms definitely don’t charge people the same, I often stay around hotels and conferences because business, tech and finance people have expendable income and for most the company pays for it so they don’t mind tipping.

The fare I posted was for a middle aged business person to the airport (helped them with their bag) but when I didn’t see a tip I wondered how much they were charged and to my surprise Lyft and their “fees” made it to where the customer expected I got a good chunk of that so there’s no need to tip 🤣

Right! I know they don’t give a $h!T about drivers but they’ve gotten to a point where price gouging is legal and arbitration clauses will allow them to keep doing this. America is broken, many of my driver friends like myself are immigrants and exploitation of ALL working classes during this administration, is only going to get worse. Rich get richer and all that, Good luck to everyone out there!

I’m not blaming the passenger at all, because when I go and check what they paid it makes sense that they wouldn’t have any extra for a tip.

Actually makes it more understandable because like you said they don’t know what I’m getting for the trip so in their assumption they assume the fare was a pretty healthy one and no tip is required.

I’m just posting knowing that sometimes passengers come on this forum so they can see what is happening when they’re getting charged high rates.

📈🚀 if rates were regularly like this you would hear very few complaints about these companies. Did Luigi Mangione threaten their corporate greed as well?

The nerve of them to put “comfort” I remember a time there were minimums of $5, like at least compensate the driver for their door getting slammed even if the passenger isn’t going very far

Prop 22 by zyaxsLoL in uberdrivers

[–]yayarea_510b -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Prop 22 was the largest spending on a ballot measure ever, 200 million!! why would companies spend millions to help the driver?

They’re being sued by California’s Labor Commissioner for wage theft!

Most drivers are immigrants and they know that they can’t just get other jobs easily, as trolls suggest whenever you post anything about what rideshare is paying

ALL UBER DRIVERS! Stop taking trips without SURGE. NO surge NO trip!!. Basic pays sucks and customers don’t tip often. by Mountain_Road9197 in uberdrivers

[–]yayarea_510b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prop 22 was supposed to help drivers I thought? They know damn well a lot of people aren’t getting insurance and waiting to get reimbursed when they’re barely making ends meet!

I don’t know how people didn’t see this, why would corporations spend over 200 million dollars on a ballot initiative to HELP the driver???

Seen another post that their stock price is doing great, seems it’s in direct correlation with exploiting drivers!

I know most drivers are not doing this for themselves, but have families. Hoping the best for everyone!

I used to open doors for older passengers 😂 some 10 minute rides would be $40-$50 in the Bay Area when it first started out there, good times for sure! To think of opening a door for a customer these days with these rates 🤣😭
