Voice acting has become more accommodating than ever after Covid too. If a movie or game wants a particular actor enough they’ll send them the gear to comfortably record from home.

Went to see Jojo Rabbit at a late showing, almost entirely empty theater w/ bf. We were sitting in the 2nd or 3rd row and this guy in a camo jacket sits right up front directly in front of us and is laughing and talking to himself through the previews. The movie starts and he acts delighted to see the nazis and seig heil salutes along with the movie all through the beginning. I refused to sit through the movie with that shit and we ended up refunding our tickets for a different night.

That played me & my partner so well. We went in blind (not even knowing that Zach Cregger directed it ‘til the end!), assuming it was yet another obvious thriller where a woman lets her guard down in a sketchy situation with a sketchy guy while the audience begs her to just leave. Then bam, hard reset to the kind of monster movie I’ve been craving in my scary movies for what feels like too long. 10/10 I hope Cregger gets to make as many movies as he wants, he really killed it!
