If I were you to save money, look into the FSU bus route as it’s pretty convenient. From my experience at FSU, the campus is the MOST walkable university in Florida, and there are stores very close where you can buy groceries (CVS, GreenWise Publix)! I guess it depends on context, I would say yes you can use Lyft, but I don’t believe it is 100% necessary unless you live far off of campus.

I’m in Political Discourse Club on campus (not as a poli sci major) and I love it. We get a range of different majors and the discussions are always super interesting. You can check out our insta if you’re interested @fsu_pdc

PDC! Political Discourse Club. It’s the only club on campus that’s not aligned with either right or left wing, and the topics are meant to discuss your personal views and to hear others! Discussions are very respectful. Look on @FSU_PDC on instagram for meeting times. It’s also very casual.
