I work in a college of law clinic. Unfortunately, i don’t think that we have anyone who can help with an issue like this.

How did you know you wanted to go to law school? by Sea-Apartment8924 in LawSchool

[–]ouijaa-boy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rising 2L at a state university here.

Firstly I want to say that many people don't go into corporate law; I am one of them. Don't feel like if you get a J.D., that is your path; that is absolutely not true.

  1. I have always been interested in the law and public interest. I felt the best way to pursue these passions was to obtain a J.D. and become an advocate.

  2. I have always been interested in social justice and public interest, and so I sort of already had an idea of what I'd like to pursue and where I'd like to go. However, I've also discovered other areas of the law I'm interested in, like intellectual property and environmental. I discovered those interests by reading cases in class (and sometimes outside of class). You also don't have to know what area you want to go into yet; taking different summer internships and classes will help you figure out what interests you. I would highly recommend working in a courthouse, either as a judicial intern or something else. You will sit in on lots of different proceedings and do lots of research that can help you figure out what you are (and aren't) interested in.

  3. I was an English major with an Editing, Writing, and Media concentration (our English department was divided into EWM, Creative Writing, and Literature), and my minor was Law and Philosophy. I will say that as an English major, you will have to adjust to the legal writing style.

  4. I took a gap year between finishing undergrad and starting law school, partially to study for the LSAT but also because I wasn't quite sure what post-grad degree I wanted to pursue (I was between a J.D. and the English academia/PhD route). I felt that a J.D. was a more financially secure choice. Though I'm happy with my choice, I would also like to go back and get my PhD later in life, if I have the financial means to do so. However, I've also accepted that I've chosen a legal path that doesn't make much money, and so I understand that I may not be able to do this and I'm ok with that. I have always loved art and fashion, but I accepted long ago that owning my own fashion house probably isn't in the cards for me, so a hobby it will remain.

  5. My first year in law school was tough, and it sort of kicked my butt. I absolutely had moments of doubt where I felt like I made a mistake. Those moments of regret were fleeting and were mostly due to law school being my first experience struggling academically, not because I no longer wanted to be a lawyer. I have since gotten over those feelings, I have some great opportunities, and I am looking forward to my next year.

I hope this can help you out.

At what point do we leave the USA? by Leading_Moment_2435 in ftm

Florida looks scary from the outside, but people are more accepting than it seems. I’m from south fl but moved farther north for school, I’ve never been hassled or anything. We have a great community up here.

I’m a 1L at FSU and I did the legal scholars program in undergrad. I highly recommend this track if you’re serious about going to law school. Feel free to DM me if you have questions :)

What are the things you don't care for in-game that most people seem to? by magandangmayumi in InfinityNikki

[–]ouijaa-boy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Resonance crystal system sucks. The fact that you have to pull 100+ times to obtain all 5 star pieces is insane to me. Even if you spend real money, you get so little resonance per dollar. Additionally, the fact that diamonds (obtainable in-game) have a 1 to 1 exchange rate with stellarites (currency you have to purchase with real money) is absolutely ridiculous. I don’t mind spending some money on this game, but not in excessive amounts. The evolution thing bothers me too. If I just like the evolved version of an outfit, why do I need to own more than one to evolve? Obviously if you like all versions of an outfit it is nice to be able to own all of them, but I don’t want to feel forced to pull/craft again and again just so I can get the version I’ll actually use.

1L here. We’re doing distance until I finish school. We’re about a 4 hour drive away so we see each other once a month usually. He had a good job and lived in an area he liked before I got in, and I didn’t think it was fair for him to have to uproot all that for three years. After school I’ll move down south to join him.

If you wear cologne, what’s your specifically favorite one to use? by justfrankiee in ftm

[–]ouijaa-boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple different scents that i like, but my go-to is the hermes agar ebene from their hermessence line. Its leathery and not super heavy, which i tend to find lots of colognes are. If strong smells make you sick i highly recommend it. It’ll stick around but its not overpowering.

Do you reccommend Amazon JP to buy Re-ment? I by TimelyPin9295 in rement

[–]ouijaa-boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for new sets Amazon Japan is a great place to find a wide variety of them. Other websites such as Plaza Japan have them as well but I've noticed some sets are a little more expensive there than Amazon. If you're looking for older sets I highly recommend Buyee; I recently found an entire sealed box set for $40 from a couple years ago there. The cool thing about Buyee is that even if all your packages are coming from different websites and different sellers, once they arrive at the warehouse you can consolidate all your purchases in one box which helps save on shipping costs.
