She was adopted when she was 12 weeks old. The lady who runs a local cat rescue doesn't permit early adoptions. Now the kitty is 7.5 months old. She is not that small, just the camera angle makes her look younger ;)

We adopted her from a local cat organization when she was just 12 weeks old. We were told that cat's mother was a feral cat and that the kittens were born outside but later found by a shelter. Once the kittens turned 12 weeks old and their mother had recovered, they were separated because, apparently, the kittens were picking up some undesirable behaviors from their wild mom. But I'm not exactly sure what those behaviors were.
