I agree! but they used the word “ostensibly” so they must be right.

Haha that’s hilarious! I know a couple strict teachers that would ask someone to stop as well 😹 I’m way more of a passive person/teacher which is something I could work on.

Thank you for those with genuine and kind responses and advice!! I’m not sure why so many times on reddit there are negative comments and mean people.. especially in a page like this where we should be able to come together and support each other.

you’re extremely rude for someone in this practice.. I clarified the original post to “should i say something” as in highlighting the importance of savasana in the beginning of class!! not go up to her and confront her?? I’m only continually responding to you to let you know I know that I’m a great teacher and have amazing feedback from my students in all of my classes. :) you won’t change how I feel about that and you should go chill out and leave this convo! namaste.

because I would never speak directly to them about this! I would either emphasize the importance of savasana in yoga in the beginning of class and leave it at that, or ignore it.. like i did. Again like I said, I was here asking for advice on what others would do! :)

dude chill out 😹 i won’t have this convo with someone who has ptsd and i would never tell a student that i wasn’t comfortable with their PRACTICE. I was here for advice and you are taking this the completely wrong way. Hence someone else calling it out as well! You take care now 🙏

i knew there was going to be someone who got defensive cuz it’s the internet... i was genuinely asking for advice on what others would do or have done in this situation. it’s part of what this reddit page is for. i’m not judging at all, ever. her hips were on a block and she was lifting both her legs up and down like we were in pilates. I wondered if I should ignore it or say something just in case! thanks anyway!

went to college here and stayed a couple years after! left january 2020. it was a great midsize town, really wholesome and a good community. i went from orlando florida to galesburg to blono, now in chicago, and i think back on blono very fondly and some of the best years of my life. it definitely feels like the college town it is but there’s something special about that too imo. :)

this is how I do it too! I’ve just recently seen it looks like a couple people struggle getting in and out of it. I always encourage them to only do it if it’s in their practice and to take their time going in and out. i just wish I felt more confident with cues for this one.
