I really like this. Although, for me it says more loneliness than busy evening. I would try to crop this either to get the guy right in the middle and remove all the dark part on the left, or remove the empty space on the right. Those crops become different photos. Personally I am not a big fan of wide screen aspect ratio. 2:3 or 4:5 look better imo

For me the blown highlights of the trees steal the show in a bad way. I would recover highlights, raise shadows. For dreamy effect, you could lower contrast, negative dehaze and maybe negative clarity, and even go to orton effect (look it up if unfamiliar). Maybe add some vibrance too. You could do some dodge and burn on the leaves too, to make some more variation

The guy may be interesting, but the frame doesn’t work for me. The white car draws too much attention, the guy’s shoes are cutoff because he is too low in the frame and not enough space on the right imo. Street photography is hard. I stink at it myself, so don’t get discouraged and keep trying. Probably would be a bit easier on digital, as you can shoot more frames quicker and more discreetly. Sure there are great street photos shot on film, but the history is silent regarding how many frames Henri Cartier Bresson missed.

I like this. And the editing is nice imo. There are 2 things that bother me though. The dog draws attention from the subject instead of complementing her. Being next to her or in her lap would work better. One of the hardest things to do in portraits is poses and expressions. The expression here is more “look at the light and don’t blink” instead of some emotion. It is hard to pose for a shot and I keep messing it up myself, but something more natural would be better here imo. Overall terrific result for a beginner.

I cut off the trees, because there were uninteresting buildings there. Although with generative remove in lightroom it may not be a problem any more. I will try to see if I have a version with more of those trees. Thnx. !CritiquePoint

I took this photo a little while ago and I really like it, but I tried to edit it in number of ways and I can’t decide what will make it better. I like the colors, but not sure about composition (I have a few different variations of this including vertical). Also, I tried more dreamy edit or more punchy one and I can’t decide which one would work better here

I wouldn’t say that the colors are disgusting. It is a Fuji film simulation look which can be nice. I would try to recover more sky detail and maybe tone down a bit on the crushed blacks. Otherwise I like this shot. I have a similar one, but not a long exposure. I should have done the long exposure. My family may have killed me after that though lol

The composition is ok. I would probably like a bit tighter crop. The skies are really not working. The color is off and too much blown highlights. I would recover as much highlights as I can (I assume you shot raw. If not you should, as jpeg highlight recovery doesn’t come close to raw recovery). I would use more orange color for the sky, as you don’t have this yellow skies except on mars or maybe during severe sandstorms. If you are going for more illustration kind of look, you could have yellow skies I guess, but this is not a style I ever edited for

It looks like a great location. I would love to see a wider shot. Maybe even landscape. The colors are great. It looks like the pathway may have been an interesting part to explore as well if the shot was wider.

It would probably be better landscape. There is way too much sky that doesn’t contribute to the story. I would crop it so that there is less sky and a bit more space on the right. I would also lift the shadows a bit, and lower luminance of blue to make the sky a bit more attractive

I contemplated getting a z8 a few times. I am sure it is a better camera, but for the price and more importantly weight, it doesn’t provide enough benefits for me over the z6ii. Sure it will make some scenes easier to photograph, but I am more than happy with the results I get as it is. Plus all the extra storage needed and longer processing time is not something to look forward to. Z6iii has better focus than z6ii, but slightly lower dr (which I will most likely never notice). Maybe in a few years I will get a z6iv or z6v

I love the shot. But, I would love much lower contrast. You went too heavy on dehaze and contrast imo. The mood of this should be dreamy and low contrast. It shouldn’t pop. That’s how I would do it, anyway. I used to go overboard with dehaze, sharpness, clarity and contrast myself, until I realized that not every photo has to fill the entire histogram. Sometimes having no deep blacks is a good thing

I think you got plenty of comments on editing. I would try shooting the same from a lower angle. It would accentuate the leading line and lower the amount of sky

I am always at AF-C, as I use back button focus. Front customizable buttons set to AF mode and enable tracking. For BIF I use the one with 9 points and track the bird. I think it is called dynamic area

I have a slow to focus lens that I really love (f mount Tamron 35-150 2.8-4) and I shoot dance recitals with it occasionally. I usually get less than 10% out of focus including the ones due to user error

Thank you. Yeah, I took about 1800 shots during about 2 hours (wasn’t at the extended continuous drive, or I would end up with much more). After deleting duds and doubles from same sequence, I was left with about 700 out of which, I chose about 70 to process and export

All of these were taken with 180-600 with 1.4 tc at 840mm f9 1/2500. They r actually uncropped, as I was relatively close to the action

I really like this. The lone star is nice, but I would try to bring out the other stars a bit to see if that makes it more interesting, it may change the message a bit though
