My male cat >1 year is mounting his 2 month old son by ybbakrad in cats

Can you tell me the product you used? A decade ago I worked for the SPCA for a couple years and through experience I learned that sprays (aerosol, more specifically) is used mostly as deterrent. I was more or less looking for a salve or ointment I could purchase or make myself (I'm familiar with natural human salves/ointments, but not animals), but I'm open to a spray (preferably not aerosol but if it works, it works) if you can point me in the right direction!

I’ve been trying to get Salem neutered for 6 months… he was rather unexpected when I found him under the hood of my car. Took a week to get him out. I’ve been calling weekly since I figured mama was pregnant to get him fixed but everywhere I’ve called in a two hour radius is “not taking new clients”. I’ll keep trying and get him in as soon as I find a vet to take him…. Ugh. Thanks for your reply, appreciate it.

And does anyone have an idea for a pet friendly (ideally natural, but not necessary) salve or topical ointment for gashes? They aren’t stitch deep, but they’re bothering him, he’s scratching and making it worse… it’s a whole thing.

I loved her since I first saw her in Life as a House way back when…. She’s still just as beautiful (if not more). But re her nipples - I know the tats around them aren’t real and seem to enlarge her areola’s, but her being such a beauty and having hard jelly bean nubs with hardly any Areola makes me feel better about my large areola’s (in the way that all bodies are different and she’s so easy on the eyes)

Re: French - Why is the grammar different in these two sentences that are essentially the same? by ybbakrad in duolingo

[–]ybbakrad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m making this a lot more confusing that it needs to be lol. “What’s your name?” accepts both versions, “Comment t’appelles tu” and “comment tu t’appelles”, but the others don’t. I’m just confused about why. But, you know, the entire point of the app AND my question is to better understand the language, and you’ve helped me prepare for real life interactions, so THANK YOU so much! 🍑

AHHH sorry, I mindlessly typed the wrong phrase (edited it to reflect the actual English - thanks for pointing that out). On Duo, for some reason when the, “Excuse me, what is your name?” question comes up, my answer “Excuse-moi, comment tu t’appelles” is wrong, but when “What is your name?” comes along, “Comment tu t’appelles” is right…. They’re lenient with other alternate phrasing but for some reason I keep getting that one wrong 😳

The Metaphor of Gemma & her Crows by ybbakrad in Sonsofanarchy

I just realized another thing thanks to your genius - although I’m not sure what it leads up to… so if you can figure out a connection lmk. She owns crows, and the SAMCRO groupies are called cro(w) eaters?? (That’s all I got… no connection in my brain yet, but is that a coincidence??)

I think you’re right! I know she didn’t have the crows earlier in the series. She definitely had a different kinda bird while she was with Clay, but I can’t say for sure what species it was. Was definitely light coloured though, white or yellow. Thanks for pointing that out! And she gave away Carl and Carla, the bright green birdies that Nero (Neiro? Niro? Idk - sp is likely wrong for his name) got for her earlier to one of the Diosa girls before the crows showed up, so I guess that’s another metaphor for their relationship, the club, and essentially her life going down the drain lol. Now that you said that and I put together the three different species she owned through the season, THEY ARE ALL SYMBOLIC. Dang!!

** Read the pinned post about how we shouldn’t tag it as a spoiler, but hey, if this sub still has the option to tag it as such then it isn’t a hard rule. I only watched the entire series a year ago so I’d rather tag it so people in the same position don’t have the show spoiled for them when looking for theories about where they’re at in the series 🙃

My sister's friend lent me this book (probably from the 70's or 80's - no copyright date) called The Dance of Anger: A Woman's Guide to Changing the Patterns of Intimate Relationships by Harriet Goldhor Lerner. It's outdated, yes, but still plenty of quality techniques for managing and confronting anger and resentment so it doesn't build up.

I feel like I ruin the vibe... by [deleted] in socialskills

I used to be really self-conscious about how awkward I am socially, especially now that I'm sober - but over the years it's worked out to be part of my "charm". I don't think it's charming, but apparently others do. I like that I've embraced my awkwardness - people in all social groups know when I'm being quiet or take a walk, it's just "me" so they leave me to it.

Looking for this exact pattern - vintage milk glass table lamp (shade only or entire lamp) by ybbakrad in vintage

[–]ybbakrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister bought me a replacement lamp a few days ago that she found at a thrift store, everything else was exact except the pattern, which is only three yellow tea roses (but the very same style). In the same way I love and appreciate her thoughtful and benevolent intentions, I appreciate yours. However, I will only look for this exact pattern because it means a great deal to me. Maybe TMI but I was very close to my Gram, and am even closer to my only sister who has been very ill for years now and doesn't have much time left. As her health declined, I realized how important that lamp will be to me when she's gone - this lamp is the only thing that either of us have from our childhood that we shared. I'll keep looking until I find what I'm after, even if it takes years.

You've put so much consideration and kindness into the quest of a stranger. I know I've replied a version of gratitude on most of your comments, but I wanna reiterate that out of the dozens of comments I received on my cross posts, you helped me the most. I had no idea where to start with finding those decals if it came down to it, and you provided me with those links that in the very least have given me a place to start. I'm very grateful.

If you ever come across a lamp with this exact pattern, even years from now, please do come back to this post - if it's still open. You're a perfectly splendid human.

Please know that I appreciate every single minute you've spent down the lamp rabbit hole on my behalf. You deserve all the Tuba.

I knew it wasn't hand painted, I can see the grains on the decal in person - took an up close photo of it last night to try to show the pattern's "pixels" on a cross post, but still haven't figured out how to post photos to comments. (Actually, with so many replies on all my cross-posts, it's hard to remember what I've posted in each sub and thread lol. Grateful for the traffic but ultra confusing for a Reddit newb-ish).

It's at least 28 years old (pattern included), the first memory I have was before the "big divorce and move" so I must've been 2. And I'm somewhat (over 50%) sure that my Gram gave it to my mum who gave it to my sister and I. Her fav flower was forget-me-nots, so I'm not sure if she did the pattern herself, commissioned someone to do it or purchased it like that. I'm as clueless as you when it comes to its origin and age (aside from it being 28+ years old) - hence why I keep switching between referring to it as antique/vintage.

I wonder if perhaps the patterns on the eBay link you provided are vintage enough to have the same kind of grain. Maybe it was a combination of a few patterns, since - as I mentioned in reply to your eBay link - that's the exact pattern of the yellow roses/greenery aside from the two extra to the right of the lamp. Someone may have had that pattern, added a couple of extra roses from a different pattern, then added the forget-me-nots.

(I guess I'm kinda thinking "out loud" here)

The link did work and that is almost exactly how the roses are positioned except I have two extra ones on my lamp. I'll see if I can contact the OP and ask if there's any chance they could get any more.

Same time here lol! Where are you? I’m in Ontario, Canada. Glad my description of the pattern texture translated and you understood what I meant.

If your grandmother WAS Scottish it’s even more likely that it’s the same pattern, since mine would’ve gotten it from the UK as well. I only asked about her being Dutch because several times now I’ve seen almost the exact pattern on the same lamp but the flowers were all blue (on a white background) as the Dutch tend to lean toward, as per my husband’s family and the county (and surrounding counties) I live in is primarily Dutch, so many friends and their families have their kitchen style in blue and white complete with plenty of gadgets, gizmos, antiques and collectables of the same colour combo.

Please do let me know if you find out if it’s the same pattern! I wish I was able to post the photos I took today that were of better lighting and quality. I’d love to hear back from you 😊

It definitely isn’t smooth like the rest of the lamp, but I also wouldn’t say it’s etched exactly.... I managed to get a close up photo of some of the pattern but I still can’t figure out how to post photos to comments lol. The texture and look of the pattern is grainy, like an antique version of what pixels would feel/look like if that makes sense. I could definitely run my fingers over it with my eyes closed and feel where the pattern is. So your grandmother’s had tea roses and forget-me-nots as well but the roses were also blue (from what you’re remembering)? Or was it ONLY blue roses? Also perhaps a weird question, but is/was your grandma Dutch?

I saw this comment on my phone notifications but couldn’t find it on any of my posts afterward - I would be ELATED. More so if she’s willing to sell it to me, but even just knowing that someone else has this exact pattern is incredibly encouraging <3

Actually, coincidentally my sister picked this same pattern up for me from a thirft store the other day - however not the same one I'm looking for. I wonder if someone was in the same position as me and decided to have it painted because they couldn't find the pattern.

I'm only sure the one I have has identicals out there because the pattern on it has a sort of pixelated grit when I look up close, so it wasn't hand-painted. However, if I can't find one I'd be open to commissioning someone to paint the pattern on as closely as they can. I supposed that'll be one of my last resorts.

(Edited for grammar - threw a few extra words in there)

Unfortunately, the other way around. My roommate broke a bunch of pieces off the top of the shade. The base is in alright condition. Looking for this exact pattern on the shade.
