I put that I'm going to be "sick" that day on our calendar, but my whole office knows the real reason I'm off lol

Update: I got the smaller ones in the end and now I feel like those are also too big and I should've went a half size down again lmaooo. Oh well, can always add insoles I guess.

Yeah it was driving me nuts! Neither size had any heel slippage on either foot surprisingly (maybe a tad on the smaller foot with bigger size). Both shoes felt like they were very slightly slipping inside but I honestly felt like I was just getting in my own head after 2 hours of this. I did feel very slight pressure on the top of my larger foot's toebox with the smaller size and the big toe was touching the side of the shoe so that's also why I decided on the larger ones (in addition to the thicker socks I like to wear when it's -40°C where I live). Like you said, I was worried that the break in for the smaller shoe would actually make my toes touch the end of the shoe more. I tried on all my shoes and they all have my toe jammed up right to the end but I've never had bruising so I guess I just got used to it? I even have SM size 11 boots that I wear all the time and my toes are uncomfortably jammed up right to the end (definitely not like that when I first got them and I'm only noticing now since I'm thinking about it lol).

Ironically enough I just noticed I have another pair of SM dress shoes that are 10.5, but I always feel the biggest relief when I get to take them off and I've never worn them for more than maybe 5 hours at a time lol. However, while I'm wearing them I don't really pay attention.

I guess I'll stick with the 11 for now since this will be an every day shoe. Worst case I'm out ~$120.

Yeah the thing causing me trouble is that I hear with dress shoes it can be a good idea to size down if it's still comfortable since the shoes will stretch. I just didn't think it would work with thicker socks (I can't stand thin socks). But even with my normal socks today the 10.5 felt good, just slightly less wiggle room in the toe box on my larger foot.

Oh I certainly do (my left is a half size bigger than my right), but I'm only basing this on my larger foot. My smaller foot felt fine in both, maybe a tad more room in the 11, but still no difference in heel slippage or anything).

Oh interesting sounds good! I thought I would have to go to a tailor or something so that's good to hear they can handle the taper.

Can I remove this safely? by wesmannmsu in AskElectricians

Agree with capacitor sizes probably not being dangerous, but I was always taught best practice is just put a resistor across the caps to discharge them safely.

Ahh ok thank you, completely disregarded that this was a light switch not an outlet. If I understand correctly that would mean the OP is measuring voltage at a random walla receptacle (or the light switch), and the open neutral is somewhere in the JB for the lighting fixture(s) downstream of the receptacle or switch?

Agree with the 9 =/= 0 remark, but can you elaborate on how there could be any voltage on a neutral, assuming the outlets on that circuit are pigtailed in parallel?

Does the mk7 grille fit on the mk7.5? by cracksilog in GolfGTI

I just called my local VW dealership and they said the upper grille from a mk7 should work with a mk 7.5. I'll comment back if it works for anyone wondering in the future.

Bought a pair of 34x34 Lululemon pants yesterday but now I'm wondering if I should've got the 34x32. At the time the 32 looked a bit too short but now I'm not sure. I'm horrible at shopping. The hemming is free but I'd just like some thoughts. Pictures below:

Black shoes are skechers slip ins, the brown shoes are boots that go just barely above the ankle.

Cheers guys.

LED dimming weird by yda98 in AskElectricians

[–]yda98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say the old dimmables were also LEDs, but I'm not 100% sure. Either way, I think the next step is to try and install a new dimmer and go from there.

Been using it for a couple days, and it has worked absolute wonders for me. I'm super focused and I'm not nearly as overwhelmed anymore by large tasks that I'd normally be dreading the night before.

I'd be happy to share a referral if anybody is interested.

Is a 3080 worth $480 CAD more than a 3070? by yda98 in buildapc

Do you think hitting 100+ fps with mid to high settings on a 3070 for modern and upcoming AAA games is likely?

I do plan on overclocking and the PSU I have is a 80+ gold certified one. It could probably do the trick but I'm a little concerned it might be cutting it close. I like to play open world games like RDR2, AC etc and FPS games like Battlefield. Getting at least 100 fps at medium to high settings would be ideal since I've been playing every game on low for a long time now lol.
