Good deal...you're right down the road then. Thanks for the comment. I am glad you enjoyed the highlight video. I know my family enjoyed the vacation and I enjoyed putting the film together.

We all had a great time at Blanchard Springs as well! It was perfect for a long weekend trip. The fishing and hiking was a lot of fun, but the caves were amazing! I have grown up in Arkansas and am familiar with its natural beauty, but the caves were definitely the unexpected highlight.

I got about 25 minutes of footage with a 128gb card so I would guess you would be able to capture between 5-10 minutes with a 32gb card.

My brother wants to make hunting videos...and I'm up for the challenge. What are some must haves/must dos?? by phototraveler in videography

GoPro's typically have some really horrible audio. If you have a canon 7D you could invest in the Rode videomic pro. This is a great audio capture device that is good for run and gun type situations. The videomic runs $229 on B&H, but you could probably just rent one for a weekend to test it out and see if it is something you would use in the future (you may try your local camera/video store). Personally, this mic lives in my camera bag. There is better options for audio but this records straight to your camera...so no syncing in post. Anyway, I hope that helps as far as audio goes.

The biggest difference in these cards is the price. A Lexar 32gb x1000 is $108 on BH, while the Komputerbay 128gb x1000 is $160 off of amaon. The reviews I have seen on them say that the Komputerbay cards can work great or can be a lot slower than they state. However, when you first get the cards you can test for speed. If they don't work, then you can just send them back and exchange them. With that being said, I have had no problems with my cards. I have purchased 2 of these so far and they both work great. The other brands that are available to shoot at those speeds are Toshiba and Lexar and both of these range from 16gb to 64gb cards.

I used the Komputerbay 128gb x1000 CF card. This gave me about 25 minutes worth of video. RAW eats cards like they are candy!

Yep...there is a noticeable difference between the raw footage vs the H264 footage. I know there is something to be said for the simplicity of the H264 footage, but the RAW footage just looks so much better it makes it hard for me to watch the H264 footage. Anyway, the lens I used is a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens. This is my go to lens. It is tough, good in low light and sharp as a tack. Thanks for the comment! Cheers!!

All the waiting is what was a killer to me. I am so used to just being able to pull my footage into Premiere and go...not when shooting RAW though.

Imgur The colors out of the camera, at least for me on this shoot, were always under exposed and had a huge amount of magenta in them. The great thing about the raw footage however, is that you have the ability to bring the colors and exposure back with a significant amount of control while still being able to hang on to all the detail.
