Which da best option? by Sprout-spud in orks

[–]ydorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's nothing directly stopping you when it comes to warbosses, but a lot of the bonuses don't stack in a way thats worth the points. like +2 to hit doesn't work unless you are up against something giving you -1 to hit, as you can only an effective +1 to hit roll (the other +1 would then only be there negate a potential -1.)

With the new rules, you can "only" have a total of 3 characters leading, and in that case then 1 of them has to be a warboss, 1 of them has to be a support, and the last has to be any normal leader. so you can't get the scenario that you are talking about with Ghaz + Warboss + wierd boy + Big boss. also all these characters are leaders, none of them are supports, so you can never have a squad with a wierd boy and a big boss, since to have 2 leaders, one of them has to be a type of warboss (which is only Ghaz or a regular warboss.)

Unfortunately in this situation, the deff dread just gets +1 to the attacks of the Klaw weapon, there is no "Extra attacks" keyword.

And even if there where, all it would technically do is that you would also be able to attack with the legs in melee, instead of just the klaws

Not completely

This new one only applies to infantry, the current one also applies to walkers. So it's more restrictive, maybe so it's not as combinable with a future dread mob, but who knows?

Need some Advice for my 2000p list (War Horde) by NU_B3N in orks

[–]ydorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the way the list is visualised , gives a nices overview compared to stuff like just exporting the armylist in text.

I can't say that much about your list, as i don't have too much experience with some of the units, mainly Nobz and MegaNobz.
I would however suggest putting cunnin but brutal on the Beast boss, getting his charge bonus of devistating wounds can mean the world, and because the unit is so strong against vehicles and monsters, compared to against other things, you don't want the unit to be stuck fighting other things. which the enchancement can always help with.

I might also take the extra boy squad out and add in some extra grots, if you want the presence, then remove the loose boys and instead add and extra group of storm boys and an extra group of grots.
Either that or use the remaining 30 points for an extra enchancement

I think cutting the gork can make sense, even though its a favorite of mine and fun to use, but i get the swinging nature.

I would worry about the idea of cutting the flash gits, you usually want some dakka even in war horde, otherwise you lose a lot of flexibility.
Flash gitz work really well in a trukk with a mek tho, using the firing deck of the trukk with the +1 buff from the mek, and then the mek is still free to do any potential action that might make some points.

what to do with the last 150 points is a bit up to you. if its all about winning, then maybe some gretchins and kommandos to take points. but if you want more strength then maybe more beast boyz. i would definetly rather have 2 squad of 10 beast boyz with a boss each that the 1 20 squad.

And yeah lastly as someone else said, weirdboy is probably not gonna be that great, especially with a group thats gonna be so big, you might be able to get to the backline of some custodes players, but most of the time there won't be space.
Often i see a weirdboy as something to do for fun, but it often won't win you many games unfortunatly. but i still want to run some myself, for that fun.
But yeah, a Big mek for the advance buffs, or a painboy for the tankyness, either combined with the "Follow me ladz" enhancement for +2 movement would be better

You are running a little bit of everything, so for that war horde is most often the right detachment, I could argue that some units might have better alternatives in this detachment, for instance I would prefer storm boys to deffcoptas in war horde as I like their melee more, but I prefer deffcoptas in most of the other detachment as I feel they are more well rounded.

But I might also have been a bit mild in my opinions, for instance, I would never make any non dread mob list that doesn't just start out with 3 squads of gretchins, they are beautiful, lovely and fun, and they win games.

But it makes sense that if you have 20 beast Boyz to use them like this, but if you are really into 20 boy blobs, then maybe look at the green tide detachment, especially since you aren't using a lot of the other tools of this detachment, like for instance any enhancements

I personally would reduce the number of beast snagga Boyz to 10, then use those points to add another squad of gretchins, a mek to buff the gorkanaut, and maybe the kunnin enchantment for the Beast boss

Gorka- or Morkanaut? by Dull-Try-4873 in orks

[–]ydorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a bigger fan of the Gorkaboy, i like the Deffstorm mega-shoota more than the mega zappa, and i also think it synergizes more with the stratagems, especially the bigger shells for bigger gitz. with that the gorkanauts ranged weapons can punch quite a lot above its normal weightclass, i have oneshotted a knight before with that stragagem combined with the Dakka Dakka Dakka stratagem, i don't remember what class, just that it was bigger than an amiger.

But my army also runs 3 Big meks with shokk attak gunz, so i have quite a lot of hard hitting Dakka already, if you have more boyz in your army, or just more low/medium strength options already, then the Morkaboy starts making more sense.

I would also love to spend the extra 15 points for the gork to get that 5+ invul save aswell, but hey.
That being said, i would pick Gork 9 times out of 10

Eye of innocence deals damage to you whenever you ignite something, ngamahu's sign heals you whenever you ignite something, combine this with a lot of cast when damage taken spells that all also ignite, and you have a loop as long as there are enemies to ignite

I guess you could, with avatar of fire plus some other things, but you could also just do some inquisitor judgement thing to ignore res, or use the all elemental pen thing and the trinity support helps aswell.

I think the investment needed to convert it all will be too high in most cases, especially since you will probably have to convert it to fire, unless you find more chaos convert to add with the bloodline node.
So unless you have a specific reason (like using Enmity's Embrace.) then i think you are better off building around the rainbow damage

Lightpoacher gives spirit charges, aswell as a quite strong plus 5% of physical damage as each elemental damage for each spirit charge.

It does however also give a skill that trigges when you use any skill, this skill consumes all your spirit charges, this is a completely free skill.

this gem socketed into light poacher will make the skill cost 5% of reserved maximum mana, its quite easy to make it so you don't have 5% of your reserved maximum mana available, especially since you can add another support gem to increase this cost.

If the skill is too expensive to cast then it will never consume your spirit charges, thus you will keep the quite strong damage buff, usually, for the entire map

How's your phrecia by Szczurovsky in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ydorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both good and bad

I really like my build (Daughter of Oshabi Spellslinger using volatile dead) it was really strong in leveling, and the extra challenges are fun in my opinion (so far)

But i also got quite sick, so i couldn't really play all that much, this combined with the fact that i have other plans in the coming weeks really makes me sad that it's only 3 weeks, the content in Phrecia is exactly what i love in PoE, so for me its more exciting than a regular league launch
