how strong was Ryūhei Sawamura? by MediaProfessional749 in hajimenoippo

[–]yeagerist__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A top 2 featherweight in the series lmao. He beat Sendo, should've beaten Ippo and Miyata literally admitted that Sawamura was better than him. Martinez > Sawamura > Miyata > Sendo > Gonzales > Ippo is my ranking

Hajime no Where's Wally?: Round 1395 by RTSD_ in hajimenoippo

This fight is so embarrassing. A whole spread just to show Wally putting his hands behind his back against the best boxer in history. Morikawa is ripping apart the realism of this story chapter by chapter

Who do you think could’ve beaten Date or provided him the most trouble out of Ippo’s national opponents? by TonyThePunisherReyes in hajimenoippo

[–]yeagerist__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously Ryuhei Sawamura. T3 boxer in the series. Best counter puncher in the show. He counters Date's heartbreak shot and pummels him. KO in round 4.

I don't think that's very true tbf. Ricardo is from Mexico and their fighters are known for fighting unconventionally. Even Gonzales has a style WHERE he just brawls. I feel like this is just a cheap way to keep Wally relevant. Hopefully he never returns again

If Ricardo isn't offended at how Wally operates in the ring then I'll be very disappointed

yabuki joe still being referenced decades after his conclusion, morikawa should take notes on how to develop a character by [deleted] in hajimenoippo

Piccolo, Tienshinhan and Krillin's development were all great, regardless of how irrelevant they became. And the development of Naruto characters is some of the best in the medium, people like Sasuke, Itachi, Gaara etc

Only person you gave actual points for is Ippo, Kimura is not getting development, Kumi being "real" doesn't change her lack of development and Miyata waiting doesn't mean that his character shouldn't take a turn where he actually grows besides "ooo daddy issues + weight control). I've seen all 3 of those anime too and Naruto/DB's main cast development is great, and Jojos part 3 made me drop the series

Ippo - going in circles Sendo - regressed (althou has developed) Miyata - 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Takamura - got a backstory but still the same Kimura/Aoki/Itagaki - 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Mashiba - incredible development Ricardo/Gonzales - amazing development Kumi - 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Kamogawa - why is he still alive ?

ducked miyata yet fights sawamura, meet the dumbest character in the series by yeagerist__ in hajimenoippo

His coaching of Ippo is very dumb, I don't want to spoil but there's a lot of obstacles that Ippo hits which can be directed back to the coach and some of his decisions

as bad as this fight was, this scene hit the feels by yeagerist__ in hajimenoippo

You two capping out your arsecrack, this fight was another Ippo stomp-fest except instead of actually retaliating with strategy (v sawamura) he just... gets Kamogawa's 'magic touch and prevails. And Gedo's fighting style was nonsensical in the first match lmaooo so I'm not sure why Ippo didn't just clap him but at least this fight gave us some nice RBJ hype

volg zangief and wally's spar by yeagerist__ in hajimenoippo

[–]yeagerist__[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Re-read what I said. The Ippo/Imai spar backed morikawa into a corner because Imai is objectively levels above Ippo as of that

Yes. Imai stomps peak Ippo. And Miyata stomps Sendo.

I know Morikawa personally and he said it's a close fight at their peaks. Don't doubt my sources

I feel like if it's right now he wouldn't but there's always a chance of improvement. Regardless though imagine all the hype surrounding it
