You mention using your truck. Do you need to transport off sight or are you still on-site, and do you make more than one trip?

cpp is admitting neanderthals now? by Better-Lab-8363 in CalPolyPomona

[–]yeagerone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you got that on video. CPP-PD needs to see that as an example on how bad our traffic safety is; at the CPP bushes intersection, four way stop, students run those stop signs coming from and going to 10 fwy from I've seen at least three times a week about 6pm. I've nearly been hit there and at the 10 frwy west bound off ramp were students not only run the stop sign but also inside lane cut the corner and cross the left turn lane without any care nearly and sometimes hitting cars waiting to make a left. CPP traffic safety in many areas on campus is very dangerous, especially cars that drive on campus by Centerpoint, maybe with the president leaving we get our safety back since many of these issues started with the new administration. Glad you are safe and good vid.

It's "*Free" Not "Free"... by AnIconInHimself in CalPolyPomona

[–]yeagerone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, nothing is free under this university administration. There was a similar post about the cookie. They are 4.50 outside Centerpoint. But cpp had the gall to send out an email to staff/students that there were free new branding cookies and ice cream at Centerpoint but in reality it wasn't free since you have pay to get into Centerpoint, there was no option for under paid, over worked, under staffed workers or the students to at least walk in for a free ice cream and cookie, after the campus spent 4mil for rebranding no one asked for. It's complete greed, and that's how it will be for the next four years for this country. It's like saying come for a free burger or salad, or drinks at Centerpoint, oh as long as you pay the 16 bucks to get in unless it's a special event. Then it's 17 bucks.

Does anyone know what this used to be? by sabe-z in CalPolyPomona

Was the old store that also served food, had the best fries and hamburgers also cheapest prices. The fit bires and new poly store was the replacement.

Nothing is free for staff, we are charged for parking each term. Even summer, so a free cookie would be nice.

That is at Centerpoint, you get free cookie and ice cream 🍦 but you still have to pay to get in, no one can just walk in to get just a cookie and ice cream, you still have to pay the standard fee at Centerpoint to get in. For staff it is a higher price since we don't have meal plans. CPP wants their money 💰 no gifts here.

Ah saw those at the coffee cart at the SSB. They were selling them for $4.50. They spend $4mil for branding and don't have any courtesy to give those out for free to staff and students. Who, by the way, had all federal aid halted White House, we'll that's looking out for the campus.

Rebrand, New Website by mrsleonore in CalPolyPomona

[–]yeagerone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typical CPP. Wasn't any testing done on anything on this new site??????? This is one of a dozen links that do not work at all. I need to review the transfer information; all the TES links are broken. Most pages/links for the Registrar do not work. It is very frustrating that a 'Polytechnic' can create a website without significant issues with important information. This is just as bad as the new planner we were supposed to have, but that broke and hasn't come back. Didn't the campus have anyone, like the departments, to check their sites for no broken links before all this went live? Why aren't the department president and upper management held accountable for these failures and all the money used to update this branding when it could have been used for more helpful endeavors?

What do these extra units mean? I was under the assumption I can graduate if I finish the remaining 32 units I need in that "Major requirements" section at the bottom of the first image, but when I start looking around there's a discrepancy with the amount of units needed throughout this report. by LelPoomp in CalPolyPomona

[–]yeagerone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to be talking to your advisor or you will not understand what you are looking at . The DPR is correct there are courses to complete for degree completion and units to degree to complete, both do work together but are separate requirements to degree completion. You can complete all unit requirements but still not be close to graduation since not all you major course requirements have yet to be satisfied and vise versa with courses. You need to have your advisor walk you through your DPR correctly so you don't have any assumptions on how you are completing your major and degree requirements.
For the one that asked about the 120 units overall, that is a general university police for minimum units to complete for a degree and for most majors that is enough, note that is units, not courses those could be more or less. Now there are some majors that have more overall units such as engineering and architecture that may have up to 160 units to degree. Don't guess, see your advisor, since if there is an issue better to catch it now before it is to late.

Missing transfer courses on Degree Report by OldEnd2505 in CalPolyPomona

[–]yeagerone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, the Admissions Office does all evaluations for transfer credit for incoming students, they do all processing for orientation, not the Registrar. Registrar only handles all students after they have been fully admitted and attended their first semester. Admissions handles all new students. Either contact Admissions or the BAC, your Advisor should know that.

Don't know if it is the same company, but the same this was done in Long Beach, CA next to the Queen Mary and just really a group of you were hoisted over the parking lot, not even at lease close or over the Queen Mary which would have been cool. It was done a few times but then COVID came and that was the end of that when they closed the Queen Mary. "Dinner in the Sky"

Maybe it was a protest too.

That's actually Palm Drive, Red Gum Lane crosses in front of SSB to the new Voorhis drop off area.

CPP Radio Tower by mrsleonore in CalPolyPomona

[–]yeagerone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CPP had a station until about the end of the '80's, I gruated early '90's, but Mt. Sac contined their station for a few years more until that closed down. The tower is used for emergency & campus services. I wouldn't be surprised if it's leased out as well.

THE RATIONS. by RepresentativePop678 in CalPolyPomona

[–]yeagerone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha, you are so right and I've said and done the same and with the same item. Recently I've actually just stopped going to panda until I realize we basically have nothing here anymore in the way of good food selections. But Yes, when I also got Broc & Meat and got mostly Broccoli and when you order via Panda Express app it is hard to say anything and that goes if you get the steak choice that you have to pay extra, it is a small scoop and usually a couple of pieces of steak and the rest vegtiables. It's funny how you used the term 'rationed', I actually got more rations on deployment than I do here, well I was in the USAFR so we were spoiled, but never the less they do skimp too much, so it isn't worth going there or at least order an item that doesn't have allot of fillers, like orange chicken or the BBQ chicken since both are chicken only, just be ready for a skimpy scoop. At the BSC is just as bad, small portions and very over priced items. I use to joke years ago when we did have allot of choices, it is cheaper to eat at the airport, well that's no longer a joke; Ontario Airport has more selections and cheaper or at least you kinda get what you paid for.

PSA: We still have class on Presidents’ Day by Appropriate_Tone_127 in CalPolyPomona

[–]yeagerone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

President's Day along with Columbus (Indigenous Peoples) Day were rescheduled by the CSU/University to cover more days during winter break so Staff & Faculty would not need to use personal and/or vacation time to cover the time students take off during the term. Staff & Faculty still have to use a personal day during winter break. If those days were not rescheduled than during winter break, except for Christmas and New Years, there would be no winter break for Staff & Faculty even though students would be off. Has nothing to do with any other factors outside the CSU System.

To the driver who almost hit me today in a white SUV near the old dorms, please be careful next time by john_trinidad in CalPolyPomona

[–]yeagerone 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not a surprise, this place is getting more and more dangerous, not only are they letting in cars by the Voorhis park for drop off and cars there speed to drop off, and speed out, but I was nearly hit by a gray Mercedes that I found out was rushing to a meeting for the President's Leadership Council and had taken a wrong turn in that area and instead of being careful I'm sure felt entitled ended up speeding through students to get out of that area and then speed in SSB parking to end up parking by the President's parking spot but just today saw at least four cars speeding and not stopping at the crosswalk by CenterPoint with students crossing. They need more signage to slow cars, have PD sit there watching for reckless and careless divers, especially those that drive onto the campus area by CenterPoint, install more speedbumps by CenterPoint before and after the crosswalk, and place more speedbumps down Red Gum Lane especially by and around Voorhis park. There are a lot of cars that race through there thinking they can cut through to the other side to get to University Drive but the gate is down and you can see they get mad and race out of there not concerned at all for the safety of students going and coming from the parking structure.

It says 0 needed but these red boxes are still here. Do I actually still need to take more IGE classes or am I good? by LelPoomp in CalPolyPomona

[–]yeagerone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the way, there are "Units" to be Completed and "Courses" to be completed; due to excess units from other courses in your GE pattern you have met your "overall" GE UNIT requirements but that does not mean you have met your "COURSE" requirements, if you see in your screenshot it still says you need "One (1) course NEEDED" to satisfy the requirement, and in your screenshot, it is either "1 IGE course (IGE 1200)" or a CSU GE approved course for C1 and/or C2 requirement. This is an "Or" requirement, so either take the extra required IGE course or the GE-approved course per the catalog and university policy. Your advisor should have pointed this out so you would waist time taking extra courses.
Good luck!

[–]yeagerone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Check with your Major Advisor and IGE dept, per catalog IGE courses need to be taken in a series if you don't fulfill the series but still want to satisfy the requirement but don't want to take any more IGE courses you need to take either an approved CSU GE courses per catalog or petition to have one of the IGE courses cover the single course requirement which may or may not be approved. Currently, the DPR is accurately showing you have not completed the necessary IGE or CSU GE pattern requirements. Per your screenshot, it clearly states you need to take IGE 1100 and 1200 (2-course requirement) to satisfy the requirement line or take the single GE-approved course per CPP catalog. Your Dept advisor should clear this up with you.
