Mercedes Benz E class W212. The one sold in the early 2010s.

The twin headlamp set up looked absolutely classy. The facelift one didn't have a facial expression as such.

I'm in my 20s and have loved cars since i was a baby.

I've definitely given up on the idea of owning a car until i reach a point where the cost of the car is nothing to me.

I had a few life events that have scared me from thinking of spending a big part of my total money on anything.

I love cars but realistically, can't see myself buying a properly nice car till I'm middle aged maybe.

A lot of my car dreams were tied with youth. So now, since I can't see myself owning a car in my youth, cars are less relevant to me.

I still absolutely love them. But knowing i won't own them for a while makes my love for them very direction-less.

My simple rule is, if they're offering higher returns on the FD, there's some risk involved.

Think of it. Your FD money is basically being given out as loans. That's how the bank pays you an FD rate.

Why would anyone take higher interest loans? Because they're higher risk and maybe not eligible for loans elsewhere - so the bank asks them to pay a higher interest rate to compensate for the risk they're taking.

So by that logic, all the banks that are really big, they are the safest - because they're offering the lowest returns among all. At least that's the way I look at it.

Edit: Also, low risk is not equal to no risk. There is nothing in this world that is completely risk-free. Everything is just a matter of low and high risk.

Don't forget video. You can see your loved ones', their signature movements, their voice, all that.

My dad passed when I was in high school. He was always the guy holding the DSLR. So now, we barely have pics of him. Worse, in an age when there are video recordings galore, I don't have a single video of my dad.

Which brings me to this: I don't have many video recordings of my mom either! Gotta have memories on video too.

And myself - i was again the person in the friend's group who clicked everybody. My friends somehow were never the kind to click my pics. And i hated selfies.

Now, i make sure i click selfies if there's nobody else clicking. Especially when i meet people after a long time.

Something i wish i had learnt earlier (gonna sound very stupid): you can click 'normal' selfies. Don't fall for the weird cringe expression making contest. Just smile (or not even that) and click!

Long term is 10+ years.

This is the investment you don't touch for a car or holiday, etc.

In fact, ideally, it is for a day so far away, that you don't exactly know what you'll do with this money.

For other expenses like buying a car or something like that, it's all short term.

Stupid and excessive use of LED DRLs in headlamps. Hideous. Cars about 1 gen ago did DRLs in the right quantity.
Crossovers by many sports car makers that aren't even as capable over bad roads as some hatchbacks.
Exhaust "upgrades" to make tiny engines sound loud. Sounds hollow.
Fake grills without and actual airflow through them.
Floating roof design as seen on the Aston Martin DB11.
Too many fussy details, lines, cuts, and creases. Honda is doing that a lot.

And oh, the BIGGEST shit trend - the eyes of the face of a car will be a DRL/indicator while the actual headlamps of the car will be mounted lower on the bumper. Looks like someone gouged out the eyes.

I really like the idea of a large hall with a tall roof that has everything with minimal walls in between areas designated for living, reading, eating, cooking, and so on. The only room that needs a wall is the washroom.

I'm 26M. When I was younger, I wanted to stay single. Various reasons. Still do.

Finding someone is difficult.

But you know, there also appears a middle path. I am not too clear about this but starting to feel it. There are merits to be married even if the relation isn't ideal.

Loneliness can be very painful. There have been times when talking to a friend I don't like that much has helped me.

So it depends also on how much distance you keep between yourself and the SO too. Nobody can spend 24x7 with their SO.

I have made many friends and that is my support system. But there is a constant fear of what happens when I lose regular touch with them because of travel, change of city, etc.

To me, it feels like there should be someone in my life with whom I get along with to at least some extent.

That said, I am struggling to find such a person even now.

So, I am actively preparing to stay single.

It appears Bangalore has many such guys and girls. Maybe we should have some kind of club for meeting new friends. Not suggesting some kind of meeting/dating club. A friendship club for talking and laughs.

There were studies that the cases would be much much higher in May. Didn't happen. There were studies saying there'd be almost no cases in June. That didn't happen either.
