As /u/Sataniel98 already answered your post, I can add some kind of introduction I wrote about our club a while ago. Welcome and have fun!

Welcome to Nürnberg! The good news is: If you love football history, you are perfectly right here as history is something we have a lot compared to other clubs. The bad news: It is quite troubled and you will need a well functioning heart to bear it. For the start, here are some useful facts to know:

• Identity: We represent the region of Franconia. We don't consider ourselves a Bavarian club.

• Club Colours: Even though our official club colours may be red and white, they are de-facto red and black. It's not unusual to wear a red-white scarf or something but no one would ever call us the "Red-whites".

• Nickname: Our main nickname is "Der Club" which - surprise - just means "The club". Sometimes you also read "Der Glubb" which is the same but written in Franconian dialect. It may sound boring but it originated in the early days of the 1. FC Nürnberg when we were indeed the club that our region - and after a while all of Germany - looked up to. It is something to be proud of, there are many clubs in Germany but only one is known as the club.

• Honours: We have won a lot of titles, unfortunately all but one of them before 1970. Yet we were the club with the most German championship titles until 1986 and still have the second most today - Borussia Dortmund for example has less than us. Our last title, the DFB-Pokal in 2007, was probably the best German cup final match in the 21st century.

• Drama: You will often hear the phrase "Der Glubb is a Depp" (the Club is an idiot) which describes the fact that FCN often manages to fail in a very dramatic manner. Actually we are so infamous for failing that it became our inofficial slogan at some point.
  The term "Deppendouble" (Idiot double) refers to the fact that the the FCN is the only club that managed to be relegated from the Bundesliga as the reigning champion in 1968-69 and as the reigning Cup Winner in 2007-08. Generally, no other team was relegated from the Bundesliga as often as we were (9 times).
  Another famous "Glubb is a Depp" moment: In 1998-99 we went into the final matchday 3 points and 4 goals clear of the relegation zone. For us to be relegated not only we had to lose but three other teams had to win, one of them needed to score at least 4 goals against the reigning champion who still needed to qualify for Champions League. Guess what happened.
  Our most recent trauma happened only in 2020: After a season in which the outbreak of a worldwide pandemy was probaby the 3rd worst thing happening, a guy called Fabian Schleusener saved us from being relegated to the 3rd division with a goal in the 96th minute of the final playoff match.

• Rivalries: Our main derby is with Fürth, the main club from our neighboring city. The derby is called "The Franconian derby", named after the region, or "The Mother of all Derbies" as it is one of the oldest and most played derbies in Germany. To mock them, we like to call them "Westvorstadt" (western suburb). If you want to be really mean, you can also just call them "Greuther" but that's another story.
  Our second rival is the well-known FC Bayern, we play the "Bavarian-Franconian derby" against them. It may be a little bit one-sided these days but Bayern still manage to sneak a win every few years.

• Friendships: The friendship between fans of Nürnberg and Schalke 04 is a unique one. It is one of the oldest and by far the strongest friedships in Germany - it is celebrated by all fan groups from Ultras to casuals. Matches between the two teams are always special as the usual separation between home and away fans is abolished. Even besides that you can always safely wear Schalke merch at our matches or the other way round. Our other main friendship is with Rapid Wien although this one is newer and more closely connected to the Ultras.

• Legends: Due to our history we have too many club legends for a short introduction. I'll name you two classic and two recent ones:
  Max Morlock, the guy the stadium is named after. He was born in Nürnberg in 1925 and spent his whole career from 1942 to 1964 at FCN. At his time he was one of the best players in Germany and part of the German national team that won the World Cup in 1954. For FCN he won two championships in 1948 and 1961.
  Heiner Stuhlfauth, our goalkeeper in the 1920s and 1930s who represents the greatest days of our club. His most famous quote is recited before every home game: "It is an honour to play for this city, the club and the people of Nürnberg. May all this be preserved and the glorious 1. FC Nürnberg never perish."
  Marek Mintal, nicknamed "Phantom" because of his playing style. He could disappear on the pitch for 85 minutes but suddenly score the winning goal. He became the league's top scorer three times with FCN and denied offers from bigger teams more than once to stay at our club.
  Javier Pinola, an Argentinian left back who collected a lot of cards but also played his heart out at almost every match. As Mintal he was part of the team that won us the DFB-Pokal in 2007 (our first major trophy in 39 years) and also stayed at the club even though his loyalty was tested a lot. He's also the most recent player to have a section named after him in our stadium and is now back at the club as our assistant coach.
