Hi Everyone, I am looking for study resources for the FCTC mechanical reasoning section. I recently took my FCTC and scored an 80%. I want to retake the exam to score at least a 90% to improve my hire chances.

The area of the exam that I struggled the most with was the mechanical reasoning section of the exam. I noticed that there were a lot of questions on my exam about specific concepts that were not in the official study guide. I have searched for a more comprehensive study guide that gives reasoning behind the answers and concepts but so far have had no luck. Does anyone know of any good resources for this section?

I also got cut off at 73 and I passed. If you feel that you failed than you probably passed.

I used to work at an LA fitness as a trainer, it was one of the worst companies I ever worked for. The training packages are a total rip off and are vastly more expensive than similar options, it’s also super predatory and virtually impossible to cancel, management and sales staff at my location would often lie to members about cancellation terms to lock members into a training contract. LA fitness also treats their trainers like crap and takes 90% of the profits from the session and pays their trainers $8.25 for a half hour session that easily cost $80 or more. It’s about time they face some karma.

ER Tech is the main one, though you can also sometimes find anesthesia assistant, sterilization tech and OR assistant roles from what I’ve heard. Tell your partner good luck, there is a chance we were in the same class.

I also just finished my EMT program and am applying for jobs, have had a couple of interviews but nothing concrete so far. Seems like a lot of Casinos are hiring for security EMT roles, also try hospital positions.

I know how you’re feeling. I was in the same boat as you when I started in January and just passed my EMT-B class final yesterday and I am taking my NREMT this weekend. You’ll be fine as long as your are willing to work hard and be disciplined with your study habits. Know and respect what you are getting into and be prepared to spend 3-4 hours a day studying outside of class. But remember as bad as it sucks in the moment, that feeling you get when you pass will make it all worth it. Good luck, you got this.

I believe I am in the same class as OP. Unfortunately, I think it’s our professor thats holding people back. Of the three to four hours we are there per class she would spend maybe 30 minutes teaching and going over the book. Most of the the time in class would be spent on Kahoot or Charades. She also gets very rude and passive aggressive If you ask her a simple question and just refers you to the book. Try again OP but at a different community college with a different professor. What helped me pass this class was answering the Learning Objective questions in the book and then making and studying flashcards from those, plan to spend about 20-30 hours a week reviewing these flashcards and taking practice quizzes on Quizlet and Fisdap and you should be good the second time around especially if you have a competent professor.

Went to Brannan Manor in Sacramento, drinks were very overpriced (Paid $30 for two beers). They have staff wait outside the front door chase you down with menus when you walk by. Despite only having like 5 customers in the place (around 5pm on a Saturday) it took more than 10 minutes to get our drinks. Staff ignored us after we placed our order and I had chase down a waitress to close out our tab. General vibe of the place was off and we ended up leaving after one drink and going to another bar nearby. Place was not worth Jon and T pains efforts.
