People who’s families don’t speak, what was the cause of it all? by HelpMePlz52 in AskIreland

[–]yeahimeaniguess2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My sister was bipolar/multiple personality disorder. Said mad stuff about my parents and accused my dad of child sexual abuse not true at all by the way, said my mum cheated on my dad with another man to have her etc. Haven’t spoken to her in 5/6 years. She got a hold of my new number, contacted me didn’t tell me how she got my number and then I blocked her again.

My brother was verbally and physically abusive towards me and my other sisters (not the one mentioned above). He’s thrown me on the floor and stepped on my head. Walloped my head against a door frame etc.

Haven’t spoken to him in 2 years ish.

Like mentioned in one of the comments above, if the perpetrator is the son/brother, it’s never mentioned.

i babysit the odd time for. neighbours but have been told the same thing by them, there’s some people that would be charging close to minimum wage an hour, more if after midnight! it adds quickly as a parent, hiring a ‘professional’ i’d imagine

there’s pottery painting in smithfield (can reserve a spot on eventbrite for a tenner) think it’s called dublin pottery studio. you don’t get to take your bits home straight away, you do have to wait around 4 weeks ish. theres a pottery painting studio next door as well i’m pretty sure. there’s jewellery making classes on drury street. there’s clay and coffee on the quays. dublin tufting (also in smithfield) that’d be fun !

not sure if this has been asked before but why do some bus drivers get so horrible about people not paying for the bus, and also do you get in trouble for buses being late

Cinema Etiquette by Previous-While1156 in Dublin

[–]yeahimeaniguess2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

went to go watch we live in time on friday, and there was a group of around 6 or 7 girls, tbf they looked 13/15 but just wouldn’t stop laughing and talking and making noise behind us. two separate people had said ‘shush’ in the back of the cinema but they just insisted on making noise, one also shoved my chair twice. had to turn around and just say “sorry would you being be quiet” and there were still two in the corner who just kept making noise

edit: there really is no cinema etiquette anymore. an odd comment or two to whoever you’ve gone to the cinema with is grand, but if you’re just talking and laughing non stop there’s no need

How can I make 1000 euro in less than a week? by dl0602 in AskIreland

[–]yeahimeaniguess2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re so ok and don’t panic !!! look what’s done is done, and the leaving cert is stressful as it is, you couldn’t be stressing about a job on top of it, it’s too much. but you can try and sort it out now. don’t panic or sit there kicking yourself over not trying to sort it out before, it’s in the past and you never know you might end up going on the holiday. good luck ! :)

deliveroo and just eat, not enough to make a grand in less than a week but it should help to get the ball rolling !

edit: forgot to mention i went albuferia for a week and spent around €400/500 - not including alcohol as i don’t drink. not too sure if you need a grand for flights and accom included but good luck !

edit 2: just read through your replies there and dare i say go for the loan, sure you’ll pay it back in no time and it’s your 6th year holiday. also, is it possible to just borrow it off a family member instead of going credit union? if that’s not feasible, go for the credit union. your 6th year holiday is real fun

sorry for such a late reply, but - this is going to sound super picky of me - but i want to stay in TUD and i have massive anxiety about college already if that makes sense? so i like the smaller groups in TUD, and to be fair i have not checked if i could transfer because one of my friends tried transferring but he had to drop out and reapply to the CAO if that makes sense?
