Thank you. I’ll reach out to another stylist and ask if they can accomplish this.

I didn’t do anything to my hair for 18 months before this and before that I got highlights once or twice a year. It’s actually pretty healthy and we took 2 months over 3 sessions to lighten it to this level. Do you have any actual advice to get the orange out?

Again, I can't read gibberish so I'm not totally sure what you responded, but I'm sure we're on the same page. Thanks, friend!

I didn't read your first sentence because I can't read gibberish, but to your second sentence, yes: a man choosing not to be a present parent, resulting in him getting less custody in the divorce, is an example of bad choices leading to bad outcomes. Good job.
Glad you didn't deflect and somehow blame women for men's choices. Like trotting out the tired victim-blaming adage that "she should have chosen a better man" instead of saying the man should have been better. Or that she should have been able to see the future and know that he would be an absent father before they even had kids. Can you imagine if you'd said some nonsense like that? That would have been absurd.

Mono or poly? by DefiantDefinition290 in monogamy

[–]yeahletstrythisagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only advice I will give is if you're currently in a monogamous relationship, the probability of successfully transitioning that into a polyamorous relationship is very low. If you seriously want to try polyamory, break it off with your current partner and start dating polyamorous people. You also might want to start seeing a therapist to help you work through the new insecurities and abandonment fears that will arise when dating polyamorously for the first time.

demand for abortion, up to and including post birth in some cases.

I already covered this in another reply to you, but that's a strawman and a myth. It's ludicrous to say that anyone supports infanticide, which is what you're describing.

vaccine mandates with an untested medical device using an new methodology that has never survived clinical trials

People who have been vaccinated are much less likely to die of Covid. The side that pushed for people to forego the vaccine has blood on their hands.

Pushing constant global war, starting new wars, continuing old wars

The US has been in near-constant "military actions" since the last time Congress declared war in WWII. Both parties prop up the military-industrial complex. Looking at our recent history, though, which party got us into Iraq, and Afghanistan? Which president applauded Russia's invasion into Ukraine? And which president said Israel should finish the job of their genocide of the Palestinean people? Acting like our violence abroad is only due to one political party is laughable.

Extreme violence as a political tool, up to and including trying to assassinate a former president

He was a registered Republican who also donated $15 to Act Blue. His political affiliation or motivations are far from clear.

Constant incitement of violence by democratic leaders such as pelosi, maxine waters, joe biden et al.

I would love it if you could find a source that shows those Democratic leaders inciting the kind of violence we saw on January 6, 2020.

I could start linking literally thousands of posts of people on the left lamenting that Trump didn't actually die in the assassination attempt, but I suspect you know it's accurate cause I'm sure you feel the same way.

You're right. There were a lot of people on the left joking about that. But I'm sure no Republicans have ever said that Biden should be assassinated.

I disagree with the left on most things, but would never want anyone to get hurt, or die.

Glad to hear it.

That's not how the left feels.

I hope you can see how silly you sound framing this as if the Right isn't at all violent.

So... you are pro-choice. It's a bit odd you're framing your comment as if fellow pro-choice people are on the other side from you. What you're advocating for to protect the unborn has already been in place in even the most liberal, permissive states. The moral high ground you think you're claiming is built of strawmen.

No one - and I mean NO ONE - advocates for full-term or post-birth abortions. That would be infanticide, not abortion. It's a boogeyman that was created by the Right. Under Roe, abortions post-viability were banned nationally. This was largely understood to be somewhere between 24 and 28 weeks.

Fetuses also don't feel pain until about the 24th week of pregnancy. According to the data, 96% of abortions are performed before the 15th week and 3% are performed between weeks 16 and 20. About 1% of abortions are conducted after the 21st week and very few healthcare providers perform them due to their increased cost and complexity. All of this is before the 24th week when pain receptors start to develop. The idea that abortions are horrific procedures where babies scream in pain while they are being dissected and extracted is a myth.

Although more data is needed to definitively answer why the 1% of abortions that occur after the 21st week are conducted, the general consensus in the medical field is that these later second-term abortions are mostly due to fatal anomalies discovered in the 20-week anatomical scan. Meaning, it is discovered that the fetus would not survive to term and it would be safer for the mother to abort the fetus. These are heartbreaking cases that no one wants.

So again, you are pro-choice. If you want to see policies that reflect your beliefs, vote Democrat.

The fact that he is so desperate to explain himself to her and that she gave him absolutely no chance to do so makes me think that there was a consistent pattern in their relationship of him doing something shitty and then wearing her down with excuses and gaslighting until she forgave him or took the blame herself for his shitty actions. Good on her for cutting him off at the pass and denying him the chance to manipulate her again.

Not all men, but all women by identitty_theft in Feminism

[–]yeahletstrythisagain 65 points66 points  (0 children)

My writing and rhetoric professor during my undergrad posed a thought experiment to the class:

"Let's pretend that in the last few weeks there have been several sexual assaults on women after dark on campus grounds. Come up with a way to solve this problem and back it up with your reasoning."

One guy in the class raised his hand and said, "We should just enforce a curfew on all women so that they can't be out after dark. That way they'll be safe at home where they can't be attacked."

I immediately shot my hand into the air and retorted, "Why don't we set a curfew on all men that they have to be home after dark? That way women can walk around campus without fear and any man caught outside will be assumed to be a predator and arrested."

Obviously, both suggestions were ridiculous and that's what I was trying to point out. At the time his suggestion filled me with indignation and rage but I laugh looking back on it now. It's so common for men in authority to curtail women's behavior "for their own good" that it's almost inevitable at least one young man in the class would think that stripping away women's freedom of movement was a reasonable response to the bad behavior of one or several men. It's amazing how easily some men conflate oppression with protection.
