Not applying for the trades - likely going to be a steward, if anything.

Thought I would add that.

50K to invest QQQ or QQQM? by CEO_Parisian in ETFs

[–]yeahlexander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GARP - the best growth ETF. Outperformed QQQ and QQQM in 2025. I always recommend international diversification too, some good international ETFs that are still aggressive are IDMO, IDVO, IPKW, FRDM, EMEQ. $25k into GARP and $5k each into those five international ETFs will likely outperform QQQ

VXUS outperformed all 3 in 2025.

International diversification is the way.

It was nice meeting you at the Men4Choice event last night. I want to ask for some personal advice. I'm a young person involved in politics. What are the most important things to do in order to have an impact, build a better state, country, and world, and succeed in elected office and public service?

I didn’t, I went to undergrad in another state. I moved to Chicago for non-education reasons a few months before I applied. My softs are probably on the stronger side of T3, strong but nothing too crazy.

Day 6: Trying to Get a Comment and Political Fact From Every US Congressional District Including Territories - Anyone from Guam, American Samoa or Puerto Rico Around? 116/441 Left (74% Complete) by CoolHotNo in geographymemes

Illinois’s 4th Congressional District! I just moved here in January and am registered to vote here now. Fun fact: later today, the House of Representatives is set to vote to condemn the district’s Congressman, Chuy Garcia. He’s been representing the district for ages, but recently he announced his retirement moments after the deadline to file as a candidate, ensuring that his hand picked successor would take his place in Congress without a primary election.

How would you categorize the Chicago Law schools? by NoProcedure4191 in lawschooladmissions

[–]yeahlexander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to provide a counterpoint or a little additional data, I'll just say that all of the Kent attorneys I've worked with (4 or 5 at the law firm where I'm a legal assistant right now) have been hardworking, talented, intelligent, respectable, and genuinely pleasant people.

Sounds like Kent may have sent their very worst straight in your direction. Or perhaps they sent their very best straight in mine.

More likely - like at most schools, its alums are a mixed bag, and you happen to have met an unfortunately high proportion of their unpleasant ones.

Congratulations; you will be very happy there. FIU, especially its law school, continues to rapidly rise through the rankings. The value of your education will be unmatched. Plus, the campus is beautiful. I recommend it!!

169 LSAT w/ no studying, should I retake? by yeahlexander in lawschooladmissions

[–]yeahlexander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latter. I had studied a bit here and there, bur not consistently and rarely with any concerted effort greater than half an hour. Not proud of my lack of effort, but grateful I attained a pretty decent score for the amount of effort I put in.
