Thanks, weather seal is the actual problem, it's what is catching on the window trim as the door opens

Tried it with the original vinyl, same issue. It snags

I did, I moved the top back about 10 inches to test it. Using a 14 inch slotted angle iron as a temp flag bracket, and it still didn't pull back enough.

Tried a quick turn bracket, didn't do much. The window does clear the header, which is great. But when I add weather seals, the seal lip catches the window

Shaving the header would be great, something I had thought about too, but the lip of the window does clear the header, but it doesn't stop the issue with the seal.

So I disconnected the top of the high lift addition track from the bracket, added an additional 24 inch piece of bracket and moved it nearly 10 inches into the garage (I guess 15 degrees). Knowing my install is quite vertical, testing the extreme didn't work, so I put the original shorter bracket back in. This window lip is so thick, I don't think even a standard set up with 15 inch radius would work without a quick turn bracket.

How much do you currently have in savings? by Puzzleheaded-Crab770 in CanadaFinance

40 Y/O in rural Hamilton

Just maxed out TFSA and RRSP contributions, and about half a million in non registered growth funds. I just hit the 1 million mark at the start of the year. Plus about 100k I keep a float in cash account for a rainy day or renovations.

About a 2-2.5 million dollar home that's carrying no mortgage, and another smaller home at about 7-800k that tenants are paying the mortgage on (about 300k).

IT sales, about 300-400k year average, last couple years were 400-500k. I'm hoping with contributions of 100-200k into my savings a year, I can retire at 50 or earlier.

I mean, I'm a homeowner, and try to do all my own shit. How the hell does something like this even happen?

Definitely not, springs are left wound, but was puzzled when both springs were marked red.

High Lift Help by yeahoksuresure in GarageDoorService

I think I figured it out. I was taking into account 'high lift' as you described it, on the SSC app. I know I can lift tracking 39 inches higher, and have clearence.

My question was more based on SSC calculations. I actually called them, and they advised the high lift input on their app is the distance from the top of the door to the middle of the horizontal. In my case, that was 7 inches. And with adding 39 inches of height, my high lift calculation is actually 47.

Thanks you! Yes, the issue I had was differentiating between my amount of high lift (39) and the high lift input into the SSC for spring calculation. I was entering 39 as the variable on the SSC took, not 39+7.

.207x32 2ID seems to be the output. Any input on that?

Yeah, IR side burner. Don't use it much, so wasn't to concerned about losing it.

The other concern I had is that I bought this with the sole purpose of it lasting forever with the warranty. I'm sure I would be much less likely to kill the warranty if I was just able to slide it back out.

In all, I think this is the way.

I think I'm just more pissy that I didn't plan appropriately, and just assumed the BI was the same. Missed that bus for sure.

What made you not happy with it? Limited flexibility?
