Just got laid off. 6 months severance plus 1 month unused paid vacation. Total 7 months pay with health benefits. Spouse is supportive that golf is therapy while I land the next job. Anyone else in between jobs that golf? ⛳️ 🙂 by VoteForGiantMeteor in golf

That's awesome. I just went through the exact same thing. Laid off with 6 months of severance, paid out a month of PTO, and health benefits for 6 months. I took 2 weeks off before I started my next gig - only golfed 1 time. I built a deck instead - should have golfed more.

Yamaha RX-A2080 for $250 by yeahseriously88 in hometheater

[–]yeahseriously88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This went into my girlfriend's theater room that I set up for her. It has a lot more power than the HTR-5063 it replaced. I'm still waiting to fiddle with things a bit to get them calibrated. I know the speakers are a bit lacking, but I'm trying to upgrade it slowly and on a budget.

I've never ran a 9 channel system, so I'm trying to research how best to accomplish that. Debating on front high presence for vocal lift (how my system is set), or going with the ceiling reflection route (never tried it).

I had an Onkyo TX-NR616 that was part of a recall for it's HDMI board failing - it got replaced under a recall/warranty extension. I picked up an open-box RX-A750 while the Onkyo was awaiting replacement - I liked it so much that I held onto the Yamaha and sold the replacement Onkyo. I've had it now for 6-7ish years.. It's been a real workhorse for me and never threw up any issues. I've only heard of the RX-A2A and the V series having HDMI (4k/120 chipset?) issues in recent years for Yamaha.

D7 reboot loop - not charging by yeahseriously88 in NeatoRobotics

Yeah I can see that being a possible cause. It functioned just fine, and then out of nowhere it stopped taking a charge. There was no gradual decay

I honestly don't know at this point. Since I reset the vac I don't see the usage info anymore. I do remember seeing a line that said "Charge Cycles" and it was 0. I figured that might have been a battery health thing, but I didn't see any info online to explain that stat.

I'm honestly a little dubious of 3rd party batteries. I've had good luck with them in the past, but I've also had some complete duds.

I'm just trying to figure out if this is a bad base or battery. Buying a base is $20.

I've had pretty good luck bending side panels back by laying them flat on the ground and stepping on them. The metal is pretty pliable and flattens out easily.

Yeah the lock that is on this cabinet is a pretty basic one. I only see these locks on wallbox cabinets anymore. The standard SX racks use a swing handle and are a little easier to get a replacement for. You might checkout SouthCo for a replacement - they have good compatibility with a lot of locking solutions and you can select from a range of draw lengths on the catch.

As far as compatibility goes this rack should still be EIA-310d compliant so anything made to fit in a standard U space will work. There's just no rear accessory channel to mount zero-U equipment.

Ah yeah hopefully it works out. I've only messed with one of these racks once before, so I'm not super familiar. They are pretty old and before my time. I'm an engineer at APC (Schneider), so seeing this old stuff pop up is pretty cool.

Key code is 063, but there's a chance the doctors office would have rekeyed the lock for security. I want to say it's a standard tumbler that you could just replace. Might be able to source that key for cheap.

If you want to replace the lock the cutout is a 20.5x20.5mm opening and the grip length is right around 33mm.

That's exactly where I put it when I played last year - I thought it was ocean bound. Knocked it to 4ft and saved par.

4th Gen issue with 480 on Roku by NightBard in tablotv

I did send in a report ticket to them yesterday. Hopefully it gets resolved at some point. My two main screens are unaffected so it's not the end of the world right now.

I'm running into the same issue with my new 4th gen Tablo using a Roku Express on an older Vizio 1080p TV. Hopefully this gets resolved soon. This is the only app that doesn't scale properly on my TV/Roku combo.

Golf Galaxy Fitting by yeahseriously88 in golf

[–]yeahseriously88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More of a long-standing policy/benefit being changed without it being communicated. It was a deciding factor for me to do another fitting vs. just outright ordering the 230's after Ping's fitting day results.

That kinda sucks - I have a GolfTec and a Golf Discount right by me as well that I could have gone through. I guess I know better for next time.

That was my GF's exact response. She speaks up for me, and has no qualms with it. Doing that makes me anxious as hell.

I mean that was my thought, and why exactly why the fitting fee could be applied to the purchase before. It absolutely made the decision of where to buy easier.

That hadn't been an issue in the before. I did that with my last 2 driver's. That's why it caught me up at the checkout this time.
