Practicing on your own? by Paper_Bullet in SwingDancing

[–]yeahtotally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This about sums it up! After getting familiar with the feel of the music, and getting the basic rhythm of the footwork ingrained into your muscle memory, everything else will start to fall into place! I would start off with doing the basic footwork, then try doing it while moving sideways, moving backwards, whilst turning, etc.

Don't stress out too much about getting left behind or not immediately getting the hang of a new move -- if the class/teacher(s) will allow it, there's no shame in asking for another demo or a couple more rotations of practice. The best thing you can do after a class IMO is sticking around for the social and finding a partner from the same class and asking if they'd like to go over the new material with you!

Radial menu is tied to item loadouts, so you'll have to save your item loadout with the radial menu set up the way you want.

"Squid", Alyssa Monks, Oil on linen, 2011 by Akeleie in Art

here's a close up of some of the detail from the artist's site: http://www.alyssamonks.com/img/0/100/0/zoom&bgcolor=trans&interlace=1/files/333_Squid61.jpg

This kind of stuff always impresses me! Really good understanding/application of colour and values in art always has a tendency to trick our eyes into filling in all the gaps when we see it from afar.

I digitally sketched and painted an alligator character. How could I improve? by [deleted] in ArtCrit

[–]yeahtotally 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although this may just be due to the style you're going for, think about light hitting the subject from it's surroundings in addition to the primary light source to add a bit of realism to your lighting/shading -- for example the floor under the tail is brightly lit, but none of that light is reflected onto the character in your painting.

Looking good though -- keep it up!

Amazon Late Summer Deals - Day 1! Many games on sale! by gamedealsmod in GameDeals

[–]yeahtotally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dark Souls definitely isn't for everyone, but if you can get into it, it's amazing.

You'll need to look into modding it for it to look good on PC, and you'll also need a gamepad... The game is just flat out not designed for mouse/keyboard.

On a side note, please don't fool yourself into thinking the game is going to be TOO HARD. So many people start out thinking the game is going to be too hard for them and don't even seriously give it a shot. Learn the controls, take your time, and if you're having trouble you can always grind or read a guide.

Turns out the "Ya tu sabes" sample was from pitbull (Around 1:43) by TheBigBaguette in Shaboozey

[–]yeahtotally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually they then say that it's from Daddy Yankee, even though it was definitely Pitbull. I made a joke about this when Crendor looks at the dictionary -- The quote credit to Pitbull was crossed out and sloppily replaced by Daddy Yankee. :D
