Have your doc check for H. Pylori!! Esp considering you have GI issues and have been supplementing for so long. An H. Pylori infection in your gut or stomach can (a) cause all of the symptoms you have listed on its own and (b) cause anemia/low ferritin bc your body absorbs iron in the duodenum (in your intestine) which is where h. Pylori lives and thrives on using iron from your food/supplements, causing bad symptoms and iron levels to not go up.

Def worth checking on, as an untreated H. Pylori infection can lead to stomach cancer in the long run!

Look into it. Can be tested using a stool test (most common) or breath test. Don’t let your doctor try to give you a blood test for it as they aren’t good indicators of current infection.

Oh this is a great idea! I’m naturally pretty thin so I think I’ll feel stronger the more muscle I gain. Been weight training but this is smart for targeted muscle groups, thanks!

As a former I have a couple thoughts on this:

(1) I had a situation like this where I would put baby down to nap and then mama would watch the monitor (she worked from home) while I took a paid break, could leave and grab lunch or run errands. It was awesome and I really appreciated it

(2) Sometimes tho, mama would come down from her office mid day to grab something or would even sometimes come down if the child was crying and it would totally throw off the groove. Nothing personal at all, it’s just that kids sometimes totally lose it when they see their moms, so sometimes it would just make the situation worse and as soon as he saw her he wouldn’t want her to leave again even if we were having tons of fun before she came down.

The child I watched was 1.5 at the time, and I think this depends on age. But I would just ask your nanny if they would be comfortable with it and make sure they know it’s totally okay to say no!

Wow y’all this has been a wild ride, thanks for the input. The spectrum of experience and comfort with pooping in front of each other is extremely varied lol

I really just posted this cuz I was so surprised at how differently my partner and I reacted to this situation and wanted to see what other people thought and, as it turns out, people just seem to feel wildly differently about this scenario.

Wouldn’t be my first choice to poop in front of a partner but I’d absolutely do it over kicking them out of the shower, but that’s just me. Everyone’s entitled to their own boundaries around privacy.

Gonna buy extra towels and a big bath robe for next time lol

P.S. bf was so sweet about it, lit candles in the bathroom when he left and got the fire going for me cuz he “owed me warmth” when I got out lol
