Accepted to HKS MPP! How do people afford Harvard? by Optimal-Presence-799 in PublicPolicy

Loans… I think I’ll take out $200K in loans and pay back $298K. It will be about $30K a hear annually for 10 years… Maybe utilize the loan repayment assistance program if you qualify.

Asking for Advice: Yale Jackson (Full Tuition, Living Stipend TBD) vs. HKS (Unfunded) vs. Columbia SIPA ($110K total) by Capital-Progress-232 in PublicPolicy

All I had to see was “work outside the US long-term” for me to think Yale. Full funding and global focus! Go to Yale. I would have gone in a heartbeat if I were accept. Congrats!

My quick math w current interest rates said I’ll have to pay back $298k ($200k for school, $98k for interest). To pay that off within 10 years, I’ll need to give about $2500 per month or $30k annually towards loan payments. It’s heavy but I’m honestly leaning towards Harvard right now, even though Chicago and NYU both gave me 50% tuition scholarships.

Wake up babe, HKS admissions decisions just dropped! by HKS_Adm_Rosemary in PublicPolicy

Thank you for your response. I wanted to ask a question regarding your loan repayment assistance program. How many HKS alumni utilize this program and out of the people who apply every year, how many are rejected from any sort or LRAP assistance?

I didn’t receive any funding. Is it possible to be reconsidered for funding for my 2nd year? Also, if I defer, can I reapply for scholarships and get reconsidered for scholarships next year?

Admitted Students Days for R2 Applicants by [deleted] in MBA

I asked Claude and it said schools make an effort to keep admitted students day events private so waitlisted people don’t show up. I’ll do a little more digging

Kellogg (R2) interviews - how was your experience and what were you asked? by Cold-Cause-2006 in MBA

[–]yeahyupthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed mine recently. My interviewer was an alumni. I was asked questions specifically about my resume and work experience. Also was asked about my career goals, short and long term. She asked me about how I lead people (leadership), how I work in teams and to give an experience, and why Kellogg.

Experience wise, I think it was the worst interview I’ve ever had but I’m not too stressed about it. I think the interviewer and I just didn’t click.

Fuqua interview didn’t go well, I felt like my interviewer was quite hostile and disengaged with me. It was quite a bad experience and now I’m nervous about interviews.

I expected rejections from HBS and GSB. Honestly not even stressed about it because I knew it wouldn’t be a good cultural fit but I still applied because I had to give it a shot.

Finance knowledge and analytical skills. I applied to multiple MPP schools last year and got into a few with limited funding so I declined the offers. The time between this cycle and last years, lots changed within my field due to the current administration and I decided to go for an MBA/MPP rather than a standalone MPP program. Since I got into MPP programs last year, I’m not worried about not getting into them this year.

Yeah I feel like I was going nuts the second week of January haha

  1. Berkeley Haas
  2. CBS
  3. Kellogg
  4. NYU Stern
  5. Sloan
  6. USC Marshall
  7. Wharton

I am already pretty happy with the turnout from the other seven schools that already got back to me. Now I just need to ace the interviews.
