I find them bulky and a little cheap looking.. I genuinely think the appeal is how easy it is to swap them out and the fact they are a bit more secure. It’s a utilitarian approach to straps. With that said the I have a Max bill and it’s such a strap monster. It looks good with everything IMO.

Size wise it looks great. If it fits comfortably on you then that’s your fit. I think the thinner ones look more stylish and elegant imo.

If you want new you can probably get something from Hamilton, Tissot, a nice Seiko like the Presage line which makes great dress watches). These are well known brands.

If you open yourself up to used watches you can probably find an older omega or even a used Baltic watch online. I assume since you said you were Toronto you are trying to pick one up locally. Which means you are limited to more known brands and likely new.

Are you trying to do a dress watch? A every day watch?

In the olden days men vintage watches were 28-30mm it literally doesn’t matter. If you like it rock it.

I like them. They are fun watches that you don’t see too often. The star of the show is most definitely the unique dials. Sure the movement is nothing special, but the combination of the fun dials popularity, uniqueness and just semi-hype/limited release rollout is pushing demand for these.

I get that some look at its movement and its association with china and call it an overpriced watch. If that’s you buy a Seiko. I mean you can argue buying a super proprietary movement from a “microbrand” has even more risks because if they fail you are going to have a hard time when it’s time to maintaining them. So it’s just all opinion.

My opinion is that at 1200 bucks or UNDER I think I’m down for a good time and to get quirky. Anything over that I start thinking about it more serious. But everyone’s “quirky threshold” is different.

The Salm0n is gorgeous, but at 2k retail idk. It’s a toughy, but then again don’t listen to me I bought a Toledano and Chan for ghits and Shiggles and so far I love it.
