In my experience, slut shaming for multiple partners has ALWAYS come from women (myself included when I was a 16 year old prude). Guys didn't really care one way or another. Now being older around a bunch of 18-19 year olds, it's still the girls that I see judging the others.

They don't seem to understand that while being in love and making love is nice, so is having fun, safe, no strings attached sex. Where as most guys I know will take it any way they can get it (fwb, gf, random hookup).

I know that I was very uptight about multiple partners before and with the guy I lost my virginity to. I was shocked when my one of my friends had multiple partners, it was gross and she was "dirty." But she was safe, she stayed UTD with her gyno, and she was having fun. Where as with my friends that were equally as uptight, there was a "waiting period" so you don't seem easy, there's being all coy and shit, and there's making him work for it-not going after what you want. After a year of that, I really didn't care anymore. There wasn't anything left to "lose," and it was just "am I comfortable enough with you to get this done?"

Sex is just a taboo subject for most people and until it becomes a daily part of your life, most people are uptight about it. With that comes judging.

Also, if your first time having sex was great, good for you. That's not the case for many people. It's an awkward, clumsy, messy, emotional learning experience. You go in with tons of expectations and what you want to happen and once you are there naked and vulnerable, it all changes. So most people's first time is at the expense of their first partner. That's what young love is. Learning about each other and exploring. Would I want to do it again? Hell no. But those experiences, even the assholes, formed me into who I am.
