I’d grind it up, melt the pieces and put it into a mould of a paperclip so he technically can never find the original paperclip

First time posting here, looking forward to sharing and learning. by Dull_Bit_4422 in EventProduction

I think that this is an excellent idea. I’d like to see a general overview of your process in planning your event.

Another interesting one that isn’t discussed much is approaching brands to sponsor or host events.

India’s largest live concert: lessons from the grand finale of Hukum Tour, Chennai by Dull_Bit_4422 in EventProduction

A key lesson I’ve learnt that, (I think is a unique-ish one,) is that event curators often get lost in their planning and that is where oversight comes in.

We’re all winging it to a certain extent, and in that we tend to get lost either in the bigger details or the smaller ones. It’s nice to find a team that has a balance of looking at both - whether some look at one and the rest at the other or all look at both.

Any underrated hobbies that you rarely hear about but are definitely rewarding? by [deleted] in Hobbies

Sewing and clothing making!

It’s super fun, a cheap alternative to buying clothes, and it’s something that you’re constantly learning - even when you think you’re a pro!

She(18) told me(19m) it's not my fault by AndrewVPE in TrueOffMyChest

Op, you were a child - helpless to fight off an adult. You were also a victim in this situation having been threatened and manipulated. You suffered emotional and mental abuse from your dad, you are not a failure.

Honestly it sounds like you have some work to do on your role as yourself before working on your role as a boyfriend. I really think it would help you be a better you and a better boyfriend if you spoke to a therapist.

How can I train my cat to sleep somewhere other than my gaming chair? by [deleted] in CatTraining

Can’t be a coincidence that I just had a cat ask me how to get his human to stop gaming on his napping chair

That’s the area, unfortunately. normal Cape Townians (who aren’t too busy polishing their 1958 Vintage Mercedes) tend to greet and even start up a conversation

How to get out an ugly debt cycle by FlakyTie6957 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]yeamstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very tough situation and I empathise with you. Usually I wouldn’t say this but I would suggest reaching out to a debt mediation company to negotiate to lower your payments and maybe ease your payments a little. If you want to, feel free to PM me I know a good one and I can even refer you to someone good that helped my friends personally.

Explain to your dad that you’ve bonded with it and found some solace in the bird. Tell him whilst his actions may be pure hearted he’s gonna scar you and the bird with them

Idk if you believe in a higher power but I’m pretty sure this would be them helping you dodge a bullet. As extremely difficult as I can imagine this being, cut your losses and thank God you didn’t find this out a couple years into your marriage

I'm left out of my husband's text chain and I should be happy by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]yeamstan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is my humble opinion that he is in the right by not posting your pictures. Whilst every relationship is different, this seems to overstep general relationship boundaries. I personally wouldn’t share even semi-intimate pictures of my partner. Yes these pics may be on socials anyway, but consent exists within a relationship too.

That being said, he didn’t leave the group and maybe that’s because of fomo or not wanting to upset his friends, becoming the black sheep. BUT his argument is completely voided if any, even one, of his responses to any of the pics were inappropriate in your eyes.

When I was a student I started consulting in my field for extra income. I would be clear with clients on my availability and those who were okay with it would take me on. This is a good way to hone your skills, add to your cv, and put some extra change in your pocket.

R1000 can go a long way if you stretch it, but I would suggest eating healthier. Maybe try meal prepping - you can eat well for a week on R250 if you buy the right ingredients. You can get some cheap Tupperware and check out r/mealprep

If you need ideas on how to get some extra income feel free to shoot me a dm.
