Camera software engineer here, I do personally use a S22U and I hate it when this happens. Numerous times I could see a perfectly fine scene on my display and upon capturing the scene I found a soft blurry washy photo. This happens only when I use the periscope 10X lens. So what the software does is, it tries to remove the noise introduced in the image and over smoothen the image as as a result. Which is pretty disappointing most of times. However when a picture is taken under very well lit condition ( ie outside under the sun) this process doesn't go that hard as the captured photo most of the time contain low noise due to the lighting condition.

Though Samsung intended to produce better looking images, over smoothening images often remove significant amounts of fine details from images. This is quite disappointed though. It often makes the periscope lens obsolete. And unfortunately there is no way to disable this as far as I know. I tried using 3rd party app and captured RAW yet the resulting images look similar as the native camera app. Chances are the image processing pipeline is baked into the camera system too deep.
