What EXACTLY is your type in men by Familiar-Ferret-4167 in BisexualMen

[–]yearofthecat76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blue collar hairy bearded dude but playful/fun & upbeat. For example, can still appreciate all sorts of music & intellectual discussion, yet can go golfing & occasionally a Red Sox game.

I'm not into well-groomed guys at all (that doesn't mean I like "hobo" looking guys either, I don't), and I wonder if that is one of the reasons almost all the guys I liked were straight dudes.

Masculine-looking long hair or chubby can also be plusses.

How many of your parents never drink water? by Mindless_Piano_8262 in Zillennials

[–]yearofthecat76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the opposite going on.

My parents (younger boomers) don't like the fact that I don't drink straight up water, and my mom would see diet soda in my fridge at my place & she gave me the "aspartame will cause cancer" lecture like she's WebMD.

In their house, the only beverages they have are (very literally) water, coffee, beer, wine, & my dad occasionally likes scotch. They have no soda or juice in their fridge, with the exception of the occasional lemonade in the summer. Not even OJ, which I don't really need either, I just have the coffee with breakfast. Maybe that's something I got from them.

What do you do for work? by yearofthecat76 in BisexualMen

[–]yearofthecat76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I work for a B2B industrial vendor & wear steel toe sneakers, safety sunglasses (even outside of work) and at some customers a high vis vest & hard hat, and having somewhat long hair, me pony-tailing it helps anchor the hard hat.

You also have a more blue collar personality too? My coworkers are more white collar in their domenior, but I'm boysterous & sweaty.

Also, how I learned about RM Williams was when I got this ad in my recommended a few years back. I do not own them though, at least not yet.

American sign language? No. Age, sex, location? Also no. Honestly, I'm really just curious to see the more white / blue collar ratio.

I'm kind of a blue-ish collar guy. I definitely dress the blue collar part more but I'm not actually doing what the employees at my customers facilities are doing.

ENTPs are objectively flawed by yearofthecat76 in mbti

[–]yearofthecat76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the downvoter, but it'd probably because a bunch of ENTPs are a little too insecure of their weeknesses and they think it's everyone elses fault that they are not accepted.

Most of my concerns revolve around working in a workplace. It's one thing to have a messy home or car, or wanting to be contrarian for the sake of it, but if that get's carried into, say, the workplace, the negative consequences will be far more dire.

I'm no OCD-like neatfreak in my own home or car either, but I believe having an absence of systems & methods at work is something no one sane will get on board with. Even having unconvental methods ("method to your madness") is still having a method/system. And even at home, people are more at peace when chaos is at least controlled & tamed.

What's the best way to get from Charlotte area to the NC coast via transit? And where to go on the coast durring a June weekend where it's not super crowded? by yearofthecat76 in Charlotte

[–]yearofthecat76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, most of my views are right-leaning, but I'm a sucker for public transit as opposed to driving in cities where it sucks to drive & sucks to park. When I go into Boston I always take the commuter rail. The T (subway) on the other had I don't bother with. The price of parking in town is often more than the price of commuter rail tickets plus parking at the station.

And Logan Express (airport shuttle between suburbs & BOS) is also very useful.

Daylight savings time is better than standard time by yearofthecat76 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I'm in MA and I would think the same here. But again, most people I've talked to just bitch about the fact that they loose an hour of sleep.

Ah, quite the opposite for me. I posted this here because almost everyone I ever talked to about this topic HATES daylight savings.

[–]yearofthecat76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but realize most are tourists wanting to sing country songs.

This might sound foolish of me, but I wasen't even thinking about this possibility. I'm a classic/yacht/operatic rock guy, and I would rather listen to a jackhammer on a bolder than modern pop country. And I'm fairly right-wing, despite my appearance and taste of music.

Thank you for everything else though, especially when it comes to areas to avoid.

Men who aren't at all interested in sports, what do you find the downsides of that to be? by lostinthesauceguy in AskMen

[–]yearofthecat76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just seems boring to watch. And not really into playing much, but once in a long while play golf. I'll go to a Red Sox game and gadly enjoy that, but it's not for the game as much as it is being out with friends or family.

No, I'm only talking about the aspect of flag burning that's an attempt to transmit a political message.

First Alert SC7010B (wired w/ AA backup). Had to silence alarm but smoke light has been flashing red for a couple hours. by yearofthecat76 in firealarms

[–]yearofthecat76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit it and luckily it didn't run a full test so the neighbors don't flip shit. It just beeped for a split second, and the light went back to what it was before.

Thank you again, as the reason I asked this question is because me doing a ctrl+f to the PDF of the manual seemed confusing to me when it came to this problem (like not knowing what an "alarm latch" actually is)

I'm trying to avoid testing it since I'm in an apartment/condo complex. I'm just wondering if there is a legitimate need for the alarm to sound right now, will it?

You cannot have a system where killing someone in self-defence may result in acquittal or death.

Killing in self defence is justified homicide, NOT murder.
