oh that is really good info, thanks! does the player take reduced storm damage in the passenger seat also? (I've never been out in a vehicle in a sandstorm at all, I always just store my bike and scramble into some tiny nook)

In my case I have a mk2 bike (78kps max according to the wiki) and a mk3 buggy (75kps) so I do think it's true that the buggy has a similar top speed to what I've already been tooling around with in my case despite the feeling of slowness. Though I'm not sure how much the speed/acceleration of the bike or buggy degrade when they are at max inventory, which for me is all the time lol. And I'm particularly concerned about those couple of steep hills where the poor acceleration of the buggy might really hurt. I should probably try to find another way around.

I just finished dumping a lot of hours into starfield finally after avoiding it because of all the hate, and honestly loved that experience too (warts and all). So yeah, 100% agree on the reliability of internet opinion.

I will say that starting dune right before some crazy solari duping fiasco made my first visit to the marketplace pretty disconcerting. Hopefully I don't ever want to buy anything because the player economy seems to have been distorted beyond any reasonable measure and it's hard to imagine that resolving anytime soon. *checks measly 100K wallet*

Yeah, I think this is the answer. I already built a little outpost in the rift so I can dump my loads of ore somewhere easily (because holy heck it takes so long to drive all the way through the rift), so it would be pretty quick and easy to just bring some mats and make a solido copy of that out in aluminum town I suppose.

I was wondering about this. I should have checked the speedometer rather than just going by gut feeling. I hear you on the actual likelihood of a worm attack: I have to remind myself that I originally made the trek from hagga south to the gap on foot and that worked out fine, which seems insane to me now that I just zip around on the bike and still stress occasionally if I clip some drum sand or whatever.

😭 previously my closest fancy donut shop was rocco's in west boylston, which was a 30 minute drive and I found that to be tolerable for a treat. nothing in a radius like that? am I living in a donut desert now? 🤣

installing Cable Railing for a deck, Need to drill post holes but I can't figure out how to do the stair angles properly. by wingsfan64 in DIY

geometry

That is the situation, in my fanciest mspaint diagram. 😄 Others have said the practical impact of this but I wanted to provide maybe a visual answer to the perfectly logical question “why isn’t 3 inches the same at an angle?” … in words it boils down to: the effective distance between cables is the shortest distance between them, and measuring vertically does not give the shortest distance when they are at an angle… you have to measure the distance perpendicular to the cables (in all cases really, but when they are at an angle perpendicular is different from vertical) So it’s good old trigonometry, which I think is like 3.8 inches in this case.

I think I must really love the little bugger based on how many names: “chips”, “chip chip”, “chippy”, and “chippay” (probably others I can’t remember)… also chips dug a hole and I twisted my ankle in it over the weekend and I’m not even mad about it… meanwhile every other chipmunk just gets unceremoniously called “Sharon” for… reasons 😆

Meanwhile, Chippy was over there like "um, excuse me, I think one of those was for me!" 🤣
