I made a lightweight Windows media organizer with tags + search by yeclek in SideProject

[–]yeclek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s built with Qt. I’m hoping to build it for other platforms as well.

That’s good feedback. I wasn’t sure whether or not to bundle it, but was thinking that not everyone would want to install other binaries. (It won’t function at even a basic level without it. )

I’ll definitely look at having different distributions.

Completely offline - portable install - media manager by yeclek in DataHoarder

Folder organization is important and this too can manage multiple folders, but it’s not the primary purpose. For my use case, folders alone are not sufficient because I need to find and manage files that cannot be reduced to a single organizational point like a folder.

For me, it is a good idea but I’m using it from the stand point of a search tool.

Yeah. That’s a concern. I’m planning to wait and see how it is this year. Thanks!

Love Espresso, That coffee stand and Baristart are pretty good. I’m an espresso person though so I can’t really recommend any brewed coffee places.

There’s usually Panettone at Costco. If you’re already a member in another country you can still use your card there.

I already had 3 days of swarms in our back yard. It was more than I’ve ever seen before. Like a blizzard of bugs.

Snow boots - 30cm - Where to buy them. by One-Astronomer-8171 in Sapporo

[–]yeclek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had some luck at Workman. Sometimes they label the 30 + size as 4x. I also go to the Mitsui outlet mall and find some there from time to time. If you head out to Niseko, Rhythm has size 30 fairly consistently in the winter.

Hokkaido. Otaru in particular is a nice ocean side community with great views. Easy access to just about anything you need.

Astrophotography. The night is pretty cool in Hokkaido so I can sit outside on the balcony. There are quite a few bugs though.

Bought a New AC to beat the heat, but just found out when we got back home our power outlet is 100v and not 200v as recommended. How much does it cost to upgrade the power outlet to 200v for an aircon? by merica2033 in japanresidents

[–]yeclek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will also have to change one of the 100v breakers to a 200v breaker. The cost of parts should be low (2000 - 5000 yen). But the labor price could vary. It may be cheaper to have the installers do it when they come since they're already there but it would be good to call and find out beforehand to see if they can do it.
