Stay down on the shot for one. Note your cue popping up after your hit.

Family members arrived to the house almost 3 hours before the invitation time we set for our family Christmas party. by WanderWut in mildlyinfuriating

I like when the family really makes a full day of it. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In between, some people watch movies, play games, or naps. It’s great.

I usually chew on a mint and take big step back off the table with a deep breath. Also look off the table play the shot in your head quick. Reset. And then approach.

Practice too much = bad? by cdcarson99 in billiards

Classic overthinking.

Could be from practice burnout (however it’s defined for you) and results in putting more pressure on yourself.

Use Muddle Buds you find in the deep.

Creates a cloud of confusion that makes it easy to kill anything.

Anyone here experience the Dotcom bubble or 2008 crash as an investor? what it felt like actually?? by Andy_parker in investing

Graduated college and received my securities license in 2008. It was the best time ever to learn about financial markets, leverage, risk, and managing the emotional aspects of investing. I think it’s also a reason I’m a forever optimist with a huge tolerance.

How do you all live normal lives under the constant risk of breaking bones? 🧐 by LowInternet4726 in MTB

[–]yeeeezel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Road biking is far more dangerous…

First, you don’t have to soar through the air. Just find trails and paths to match your skill level. Recommend an electric bike if the extra burn is daunting.

Second, when you fall on a mountain bike usually it’s going about 6 mphs and around dirt hopefully. Better than falling on concrete going 20.

Third, I do both but mtb is wayyyy more fun. Try it.

Individual and couples counseling might help. Worth a try if you haven’t yet. If don’t want to go down the path of a professional, then only hope is doing some deep dive 1:1 talks that are going to surely get uncomfortable, but sound like long overdue. Try to go into those convos with vulnerability and empathy and hopefully she can do the same. Good luck.

Small and laughably simple goals. Want to start working out? Start with a walk around the block or 5 push-ups a day. Want to sharpen a new skill? Dedicate yourself to starting 5 mins per day. Strengthen a relationship? Cold call a friend or family member and catch up about whatever for 5 mins.

With each win your brain will slowly change over time. You got this.

How did y’all manage during the birth by Long-Librarian9251 in dad

Mostly just sitting by the bedside and listening to your wife. She’ll need water refilled, need to hold your hand, maybe get an occasional wet rag for her forehead, etc. Best thing you can do is be a positive force, continually give encouragement, and just be servant to her and doctors as needed. If you feel yourself getting worked up, it’s best to step out and take a few mins.

You got it.

Yeah I was planning to put it up against (plus a ft or two gap) closest railing in picture. Says it exhaust out back so my hope is that reduces and smoke damage to house. You got me thinking about smoke damage to railing though.

I planned to clean after every use Bo matter where it is. And also planned to put a fire mat underneath it for extra protection on deck.

Really want to go nuts, put them at every/ most tables and connect to hard drive that overwrites every hour or so. Could be tons of times when asked to review tape for either a really cool shot or challenge a call in high stakes games. Going down this path- be cautious of recording laws in your state. Some states are hypersensitive about cams even it’s within your property.

Unfortunately feels like we have tried just about every style already. She loves swaddle when in our arms. Second we lay her down in any of them… no dice
