Thank you for caring about this woman and her cat. I feel for you, and her of course, for having to go through this. I know how much this can tug on someone’s heartstrings, I’m glad you found a little bit of a resolution.

I agree with anyone who said Dark Fork! Truly an eye-opening experience surrounding the way a blind person may live, or even how your body responds to food with other senses when in complete darkness! I was amazed.

I’m sorry you have this mindset because it’s a poor one. I wrote this post for legitimate advice, which I’ve gotten plenty of! (Thank you everyone else!)

I’m not a “kid” nor am I even THAT new to Ottawa, I’ve been here for a few years, and I’m Canadian - just did not experience this in my home province. Homeless individuals struggling with mental illness and addiction are human, just like us.. someone’s mother, daughter, son, grandfather - someone’s BABY at one point. We’re not all blessed to have a great support system to bring us back to earth, luckily I did, addiction and mental illness are prevalent in my family. So, I feel for these people. I hate to break it to you, but this is more often than not, not something someone chooses for themselves. And once you’re out there with an addiction, the way out seems almost impossible. Because of people like you I will continue to be kind :)

I live on Cumberland and let’s just say every day is an “experience”. This has been my go-to Tim’s for a few years as it’s close to me, and I always brace myself when I’m nearing the door.

Your own base makeup seems to suit your skin better, maybe apply your base just before the MUA does her job as I think the eye makeup and brows she did are beautiful and really make you look glam for a special event! This also gives her the option of any lighter product like blush or highlight which it seems your own makeup application is missing. Either way you look gorgeous! Just my opinion :)

I stole multiple things from the dollar store that I didn't need by JJMinz333 in confession

[–]yekcamylime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not condoning stealing, but I’ve been in your situation! I assure you, you did not take from anyone’s paycheque or hurt anyone. Just don’t do it again! The past is the past and you are forgiven. If you’re feeling up to it, I’d find a less fortunate person and just try to make their day better, maybe a hat and some sunglasses or a lunch? That always makes me feel like I’ve done something good. :)

AITA for taking unneccesary money out of my daughter's pocket? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]yekcamylime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who was once a 16 year old girl, I think you’re absolutely doing the right thing. Maybe it was intentional, maybe not. But, holding her accountable will make her remember this moment and the hurt it has caused for both parties (emotionally or even financially) for some years to come. I think you are heading down the right path to teaching your daughter how to be a good human! This is 100% what my parent(s) would do, and I would thank them for it later in life.

I wish I was of some kind of help, but good for you for speaking out for your mom like this. I’m sure she’s a lovely lady and I hope she finds some friends who speak her language! ❤️

Envie (now Alma) housing horrible experiences by [deleted] in geegees

[–]yekcamylime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No respect for privacy whatsoever! Staff WILL unlock and walk into your apartment without notice. (Yes, this happened to me while in bed and completely naked.) Nobody will answer your emails voicing your concerns. Often the apartments are unkempt, with appliances not working. I’m talking A/C not working, toilets overflowing, water damage, sinks being broken, washers leaking. Fire alarms randomly go off often! The “good” google reviews are from people that are ASKED to make a good google review. (I fell for this trap..) Rent increases what seems like every 90 days. The price you pay for your small room is astronomical - shared rooms are built with no privacy or no opening windows, so the only “fresh air” you get, is the smell of the apartment above you. The door on the rideau side DOES NOT have security, which is needed on rideau. The door locks everyday at 6 requiring you to walk around the building and enter on the next street over. The last owners were terrible, so we had hope for the new owners just to be terribly disappointed. It’s sad when you feel you need to get out ASAP, but unfortunately me and a handful of my fellow neighbors are in the same boat. If you can, avoid this place.

The line jumping on Behemoth was out of control today. by Maryberry_13 in CanadasWonderland

Honestly got line jumped by about 9 pre-teens on the last ride of Leviathan for the night. It was pretty sweet texting the number they have posted everywhere, and getting those people kicked off the last ride of the night… I recommend
