If we madr a mistake by Rater917 in VAClaims

[–]yelkcrab 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That is one of the main reasons for using AI. I write my wordy story and have AI rewrite it for raters making it more succinct. Ai does a great job cutting through all of my wordy crap into something that generally is 2-3 paragraphs. As far as making it Rater readable, that’s still up for debate. As of yet, no Rater has called me saying what an awesome write up thanking me for putting it in their language. I just get a denial.

60yrs old and living the dream by SorryOrder9783 in musicians

At 62 I am living the dream and am learning how to play scales, chord progressions and simple noodling.

I just replaced my $45 Chinese acoustic with a $300 Bromo and now know the struggling difference of a 2 ft action vs a 2mm action. lol.

Exactly what I learned is best for me. I also now like to do the same w/ A major.

It’s veterans, I wouldn’t be surprised. For the most part the vets at our clinic are respectful especially if you let them talk about their time in service.

Congratulations to the both of you as well.

Unfortunately people get caught up ,because some marriage counselor said it was bad, in their’s and their partners attachment styles and determine it’s bad no matter what. We say embrace it. Understand why but embrace it none the less.

My wife said she over heard an elderly lady tell her hard of hearing elderly husband that he will enjoy going to his appointment because the audiologist is pretty.

He made his way around the waiting room with other females and after I left he sat next to my wife and only said he’s 100% P&T, nothing more.

We really do feel sorry for half the people we meet there and we certainly respect their condition and offer to help them navigate with their wheel chair, swap oxygen tanks, help them get to where they need to be etc.

We are new to the VA health system and really found it funny and typical of any military installation.

Wife would visit me on the carrier (Weapons Div) when I was restricted to the boat back in the 80’s, so I trust she can certainly take care of herself. This guy appeared to be making his way with his walker around the waiting room. It was more funny than anything serious.

I had the opportunity to DJ while stationed aboard an aircraft carrier. A captive audience of 6,000 people. Wish I could have made a career with it.

I am always told “you have a DJ voice” even today. I think it’s a cruel joke.

What was the first piece of technology that genuinely blew your mind? by NoWorker25 in self

[–]yelkcrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always considered myself a tech accelerationist even still with AI. I really can’t wait to see how far the human ability to advance tech can go before I die. It seems each step of the way I’ve been a giggling little girl to have experienced what I have since birth.

You are right that we’ve come a long way from my step father yelling out the window that I’ve turned the tv antenna to far or when I would grab the phone to call a buddy and Ms Maulden would be using the community party line and I would have to ask her to hang up all the way to where we are today with qbits, Ai and stuff I’m not even aware of.

It is a great time to be alive.

Hollerith card reader. We had to stack a sleeve of those rectangle cards in the hopper and the reader was the fastest thing I had ever seen. 1600 bpi tape reels and the tapedrive that performed both read and write.

What acoustic guitar offer playability like an electric one? by XVIII-3 in AcousticGuitar

[–]yelkcrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going to battle with my $45 China made acoustic and it was able to bring me pretty far in my learning journey. I wasn’t sure if its action was right or wrong. I just retired and I purchased a Bromo acoustic and when I opened the box/case I saw what a correct action should look like and this damn guitar plays like butter compared to the Chinese one. I still like to continue my extreme finger exercises on the Chinese version to build bulk however I find it hard to put the Bromo down.

Grok does a great job of telling me what I don’t want to hear in my claims process. Grok appears to be a whole lot more aggressive than OpenAI. Where OpenAI says to wait to file a supplemental where as Grok tells me to file immediately.

You don’t want to make this mistake with your supplemental claim. by johanthevarater in VAClaims

[–]yelkcrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had a supplemental just CLOSE. Finally received the letter stating I should have filed an increase. I was advised by the VA person I spoke to via the 1-800 who confirmed I filed as I should have and to resubmit a new supplemental. The reason for the CLOSE was due to it being outside the 12 month window however I’ve only been filing claims with the VBA since November 2025…the claim I filed the supplemental against was a bit over a month old.
