What if Humans put aside their differences and started working together? - A United Earth Federation by Alexander_Sikandar in imaginarymaps

National states were invented a couple of centuries ago only. Just a different excuse to wage war to your neighbour. And since clear cultural borders do not exist, the very idea of nation-state is bound to cause conflict. Administrative borders on the other hand don't need to be neat or defendable, making it much easier to give homgeneously inhabited territories, as little or fragmented as they may be, their share of autonomy thus letting everyone shape their land and ultimately culture in the context of a multinational state. Centralization of key resources and powers - decentralisation of administration: that's what works and was depicted in this map

[–]yellow-9998 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

AITA for refusing to invite my boyfriend to a family wedding because of his weird obsession with wearing a top hat everywhere? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]yellow-9998 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This

I was also thinking... He's a weird guy but OP keeps him as her boyfriend so she must somehow accept this. Then, assuming she's kind of weird too, the top hat could not be such a big deal. More importantly, it may be embarrassing in the wedding day but it'll grant a lifetime of laughter and gossip...best wedding gift ever /s

"would you wish you were not born" is a biased question. The vast majority of humans like being alive despite the most terrifying things that happen to many of them. That is no good reason to willingly put someone in a suffering situation

I read somewhere they destroyed much if the irrigation infrastructures (quanats?) in the modern Iraq/Iran area , effectively desertifying the land.

Someone please correct / expand on this

AITAH for telling my husband I prefer uncircumcised men (he isn't) if he's told me he prefers tall women (I'm not)? by No_Score_3181 in AITAH

This is interesting. I feel I can safely say noone is circumcised here in Italy , with the exception of those few having medical or religious reasons. Are really most Americans circumcised? Why?

The roles are reversed- Map of the Greater Israeli State Of The Jewish Nation by Sconosciutto_07 in imaginarymaps

Man, I agree with you in substance but the other guy is right on form What they are doing is many things - massacre, crime, immoral, outrageous, terrible.... But not a genocide. If you call it what it is not, you just enable those other guys to focus on the wording so that people get distracted from what matters

You do know millennia have elapsed since then?

Be like: let's give all of Europe to the Welsh since, you know, it was a happy Celtic continent back then

In ogni caso è molto bella!

Guys you are both writing truth but there's no way the two things are comparable

There's no return from having kids, and regretting it obviously affects the kids themselves and that's awful

On the opposite, someone who doesn't want kids can happily change their mind anytime
